Angels would have trouble getting along with Micah Burnet, and Tempest Lavalleโs halo is twisted plumb out of shape by the time she gets to the plantation where her two married sisters are living. Micah was the handsomest of the three outlaws who escorted her and her sisters from San Antonio to Louisiana but he also has the biggest ego. Add that to Tempieโs fiery temper, and the two could burn down the whole western half of Mississippi. Micah isnโt happy about Tempie coming to the plantation, but itโs a big place and he can stay out of her wayโฆright? Wrong! He and Tempie are drawn together the minute he shares a deathbed confession with her. He knows that little apparition appearing over her head when sheโs being nice is darn sure not a halo but just a trick of the light, so why does fate keep throwing them together? Review: How lovely! - I live in Texas. So the names Burnet and Fannin are familiar from my Texas history. I found this story to be absolutely delightful. There was nothing I didn't love. There were stereotypes, of course, but I love the spirited families represented herein. It engaged me almost immediately and it has the requisite HEA that is required for a 5 star rating from me. Review: Nice ending to a series - Finally we get to Tempest and Micah's story. This one takes place at the Mississippi plantation. There's not the excitement of Indians, robbers or Santa Anna's men chasing them but there are some very unexpected turns. It opens with Micah engaged to Sally and at her deathbed. She has a confession before she dies. It completely rocks his world and of all people for him to share it with, Tempest is the one. This puts them on a road of friendship and almost costs Tempest her life. Several other characters and couples are introduced, giving the ending a feel of a loving village to support and depend on. Nice series.

another fun read
Tempest is definitely named correctly. She is one lady who can shot, hunt, skin animals and serve tea the same day. Plus she is hardheaded and speaks her mind. All things that drive Micah crazy. But, fate threw them together for a reason. They are the perfect match, but will they ever figure it out? This series is a fun read and you will love the characters. Strong women who are perfect matches for three strong men. And it will take strong personalities to love and cherish each other.

"A Trick of the Light" Sweet Series*****
This last book of very sweet series is a perfect ending for all of the main characters even the killing one. The ending ties everything thing up perfectly for the Cowboys as well as the pretend Nuns and left me definitely smiling. Another wonderful series Carolyn Brown. *****

A Trick of Light (An Angels and Outlaws Historical Romance) by Carolyn Brown
Book three of the series was a great ending for the journey of the characters. It was humorous, exciting and showed a family loyalty. I would recommend this book to all romantic's and those who like a good read, however I would have liked an epilogue to give it a five star.

Angles and Outlaws
I have just finished the first three of these wonderfully exciting and adventurous books. I found the characters intriguing and involved, also great story and history of family. Thank you for writing these Books.

Micah and Tempest find their way to forever! Fun to watch! Enjoy!
That thin line between love and hate was crossed! Milan's fiance Sally died, and on her death bed told Micah her secret. Constance reveals to Tempest that she poisoned Sally and was killing her, to get a Burnet! She failed to kill Tempest, but Tempest prevents her from forcing Micah to marry her! What a riot! Loved that scene! Lots of fun banter!

A Trick of Light
Absolutely wonderful story there is laughter and romance bringing everything together. The brothers had a shock when they first met the sister's . The women had been taught to shoot better than most men and to be able to ride a horse they wear trousers and don't sit side saddle. The brothers have taken on three sassy ladies. Fabulous
