Does this work with precious metal clay?

Accepted Answer

According to the manufacturer, you CAN use it with metal clay:"Great with kiln fired glass paints and Precious Metal Clay (PMC)."  The structure of the kiln itself would protect your microwave, and in fact it is possible to safely use small bits of foil in your microwave when done carefully.  But regardless, the kiln itself will prevent the sparking that you might worry about.

Are there molds that work in this kiln?

This is a small microwave kiln and I am not aware of any molds that will fit.  This is specifically made for fusing small pieces... cabochons and earrings, etc...

What tools are included - does it include safety glasses and glass pliers?  How many sheets of kiln paper are included?

It does not have safety glasses, no glass pliers, but it does have about 5 large kiln papers that u can cut.

Question 4

Can the kiln be used in your regular kitchen microwave or do you need to have one dedicated for only using this kiln?

We have used it in our kitchen microwave no problems. We haven't noticed any funny tastes or smells - it has been a terrific tool. We bought a second one as the cool down time can be a bit lengthy and we want to be able to set up another run without waiting... great stuff!
