Honestly, I’m so over microwave popcorn bags—the weird chemical smell, the greasy fingers, and half of them always end up burnt anyway. I picked up this **Dash Air Popper** in the Aqua color (which is so cute on the counter, by the way), and it has been a total game-changer for our family movie nights. The best part? It’s **oil-free**, so I don't feel guilty about the kids snacking on it all the time. It literally uses hot air to pop the kernels, and it is *fast*. We’re talking a giant bowl of popcorn in about two minutes. The little **measuring cup** on top doubles as a butter melter while the corn is popping, which is such a smart little design feature. It’s super easy to use—my kids can practically do it themselves—and cleanup is basically non-existent since there’s no sticky oil involved. If you’re a popcorn lover or just want a healthier, cheaper way to snack, you seriously need this. It’s way more fun than the microwave, and the popcorn actually tastes like popcorn, not a science experiment!

This is my second one in three years. It has the same problem that the old Hamilton Beach air poppers used to have, and that's its only drawback. It's easier to clean than the Hamilton Beach, it's definitely made out of less plastic parts, and the butter tray on top is quite sufficient. Brace it if you're doing this on a countertop. It wants to wander when it's running. And I do wish somebody would use a higher quality of plastic on the top. It doesn't melt and misalign as fast as the old Hamilton beaches did, but after 3 years of doing popcorn twice a week, it malformed to the point the things no longer sealed right, which accelerates the malformation of the plastic. But here I am getting another one, because it's cheap and it works. But given that it's just basically a hair dryer, and none of the hair dryer plastic melts, I'm guessing you just can't make that plastic clear. Such a shame. I assume I'll be getting another one in 3 years. (This may seem like Petty complaints, but it was enough to take a star off. And yet I'll probably buy it again)

Works great and fast. If you don’t have a microwave or just don’t like getting burnt pop corn and kernels in every bag this is a got to for perfect popcorn every time. It’s light. Does not take up a lot of space and makes pop corn quick always tastes so fresh.

This is a very good popcorn maker. Follow the directions better than I did the first time. I didn't want that many kernels so I didn't put enough in for my first trial run. The popcorn did not pop in it kept throwing out the kernels. Then I followed the directions. I suppose I'm supposed to do that LOL. I filled it up properly and it worked perfectly. The only thing I can say that is not that great about it is that it is super loud. But I don't know if all popcorn makers are loud. Otherwise it was a very very good buy.

I gave this 5 stars because it does what it advertises, it is quick, one heaping measuring cup fills a 5-quart mixing bowl with popcorn, it is easy to fill, clean up takes about 5 seconds, its compact, and the price is right. Some comments. Be careful because it is quite hot after use, as warned in the instructions. I mention this, because one does not expect a thin plastic item to be that hot. When all the corn is popped, I turn off the button and go about adding butter and some salt to the popcorn then sit and enjoy it. Later I come back for my 5 second clean up. It is inefficient to melt the butter in the measuring cup, I use a paper bowl in the micro, easy and no clean up. I have been on a low carb diet for a year, and this is my go-to snack. Use it about every two days. It does shoot some popped and unpopped corn around the countertop, but I don’t find it to be bothersome. There is only one item that slightly bothers me, and that is the two plastic clips that attach the plastic top to the base. They seem to be somewhat fragile. And therefore, I am careful when I attach the top to the base.

The popcorn maker was fantastic and did a great job. But the top lid developed bubbles after the first few uses. Reached out to Dash support who were helpful, and Amazon sent out a replacement. Even the replacement had the same issue with bubbles forming on top lid! Reached out to Dash support again who suggested a few possible reasons like putting the lid in microwave or dishwasher (neither of which I had done), not filling the lid enough. The last one was interesting as I was only using 36 grams/1 serving which is less than half of the lid size. Ended up returning even the second one. And got a Dash Turbo, which is a newer model but also smaller (8 cups vs 16 cups) Used the Turbo twice now, with no lid bubble issues! Tl;dr - If you buy this, make sure to fill till at least halfway of the measuring lid. Besides this, it’s a great product to make low calorie popcorn!

I ordered the DASH Hot Air Popcorn Popper Maker with Measuring Cup in white. I only ordered it because it was the best price I could find, however, the negative comments are definitely correct. The positives besides the decent cost is that it's effortless for prep. You have to be careful when you put the plastic top on, because I could see how easy it would be to break some of the tabs. There is a butter container if you want to melt that which I will not test because the reason I ordered this was for a healthy snack so I don't want butter. You just plug it in, put in your kernels, and press the power button and wait a few minutes. It does make popcorn fairly quickly, and this thing is quite loud. I used to have an air popper, and I don't remember that one being very loud. Some of my animals do not like this thing at all. It gets the job done but there are several negatives. This thing is crazy and has a mind of its own. This thing can shoot out alot of unpopped kernels. I have to try and gather them so I can put them back in, but they are hot and burn your fingers. Then some other unpopped kernels will come out as it pops and then a dump of them at the end. Then it seems sometimes this thing just goes completely crazy at the end and starts shooting them all over the kitchen. Then you think it's done and some more will blow up right in your face. It's absolute chaos, but it doesn't happen every time it seems. The animals think it's fabulous when a bunch of stuff falls on the floor, but I have a dog with allergies so he can't be out when this thing is on. It's also hard to find unpopped kernels that fly on the floor. However, because a lot of the good quality ones are so much more expensive, you just get what you pay for and I think it would be unreasonable to expect too much from this unit. I use this everyday and several times a day, and it does get the job done. But if I'm going to keep up this daily habit, I might need a higher quality one because this is too much extra work when I care about the unpopped kernels and grand finale kernel shootout at the end. You'll have to pick your poison to either pay alot more money for a popper that has more maturity or pay much less and deal with chaos.

As soon as it was turned it I could smell burning. I left it for another minute and then it started smoking and turned off. Sent back for a refund. Do not buy

This is very cool, it make the popcorns ready in 2 mins. Good thing no Oil needed just hot air. Smells great when the popcorns are ready.

Burning motor smell when turned on, tried several times so not a “new product smell”.

اشتريت هذه الماكينة وشحنتها إلى السعودية. للأسف من أول استخدام الجهاز اشتعل بالنار! أطفأته وانتظرت فترة ليبرد ثم حاولت تشغيله مرة أخرى وكانت النتيجة نفسها — اشتعال مباشر. المنتج غير آمن وخطير جدًا للاستخدام. لا أنصح بشرائه نهائيًا. للأسف اكتشفت المشكلة بعد انتهاء فترة الاسترجاع.

It's been working really well since we got it but I specifically got this dash one because it has the on button on the side of it. All the other ones I've seen, and the one I grew up with, turns on the moment you plug it in and I've always hated things that do that. It's such a nice, small thing, that makes a big difference to me. Definitely worth the price. Takes up way less space than the big round ones where you're supposed to use the lids as the bowl. And let me tell you, those SUCK. I used to have one of those like 10 years ago and the lid as the bowl was so awful because they have little holes at the top of the lid, which becomes the bottom of the bowl lol the little cover they give you doesn't stay on. If you want to save money, choose an upright one without the on button if you don't care about that.
