Once installed, do the telescoping tubes lock down and provide rigidity? (The yoke will be removed.)

Thank you for your question! The telescoping tubes do not lock down once installed. However, once sitting on the seat it does help keep the tubes in place when weight is applied. If you wish to lock the tubes down at the set width, you can do this by simply drilling a small hole on each of the center tubes and installing a small self-tapping set screw.
