Does it make a mess when you replace the tire like slime does?

Yes, big time mess in proportion of course to how much you put in. Imagine the tire laying flat on the changing machine, if its over the lip inside the tire, its gonna run into the machine and make the guy angry.

How much better is this than slime sealant?

Can't say it's better, but I have had great luck with Berryman. My lawn mower tire hasn't lost air with Berryman. I haven't used Slime since I found Berryman. Hope this helps.

Is this compatible with mountain bike tires?

Yes; my tires were full of goatherd thorns and with it in, they have not lost air in 2 years!

will this work for bicycle tubeless tires?

Yes i have set fatbike tires up tubeless for several years now using it.
