We started using this dust for our gerbils at the recommendation of the place where we got our gerbils. While I have had hamsters, gerbils, and rats for years, this has to be by far the best quality of dust I have seen, and it seems to really work. Our boys have been using it for bathing and really like it (as well as using it as a litter box, finding that it clumps their pee and poop fairly well, too). The color is a neutral gray, but it really shows when it needs cleaning, making daily cleaning super easy. It does throw dust quickly, though, so be careful with it when pouring a new amount into their container. It does feel very fine and soft, though, and seems pretty good. The dust is a bit expensive, but it's worth it given how well it works. I wish it came in a bigger size container and that the container itself were more durable. I am likely to pour it into a different container since the current one leaks easily. With how my gerbils love it, though, it's completely worth it, and I will keep buying it.

Oxbow is pretty much the "go to" label for the majority of products I buy my chins. My vet (who has saved the lives of two of my chins and "fixed" both my boys), whom I trust implicitly has strongly recommended the brand for their food source because it is clean, safe and high quality. After finding out that chins are prone to diabetes if they get sweets like raisins for treats, I switched to Oxbow's Barley Biscuits and Oxbow's Veggie Treats and Mom, Dad and the kids all LOVE THEM! After finding out that they also put out a wide variety of hays for chins and that occasional variety helps keep them motivated to eat primarily hay which is best for their teeth and overall health in general; I switched to Oxbow hays and their hay consumption has gone way up since then. In the seven years since I rescued Luna my alpha male and then Zhin who is "Mom" to Chianna and Yoda; this is the healthiest all of them have been. Their weight is good, their teeth and coats look great and it's all out "chinsanity" at playtime. With all of that I'm mind, I went ahead and invested in the Oxbow dust bath and have to say that although, as with all dust, it's a pain in the butt to clean up after (especially with 4 chins rolling around in it like whirling dervishes!) it has really made a difference in their coats. They are soft, shiny and happy as can be when they are all "Poofed" out! Is it an expensive product, yes. But the health and well-being of my chins is paramount to me and I have physical evidence to back up my belief that Oxbow is for chinchilla's what Zupreem is for birds. Personally, I'd rather put the money into their diet and environment than risk their health and/or the cost of vet bills. But that's just my opinion… ok, my vet would probably back me up on it and he is "THE MAN" as far as I'm concerned!

I’ve been using Poof Chinchilla Bath Dust for several months now, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! My chinchilla absolutely loves her dust baths, and this product makes the experience perfect every time. Wer Chinchillas hält, weiß, dass nicht jeder als „Chinchilla-Sand“ beworbene Sand tatsächlich geeignet ist. Viele Produkte aus dem Zoohandel sind schlichtweg zu grob oder enthalten Zusatzstoffe, die dem feinen Fell eher schaden als nützen. Dieser Sand hier ist genau richtig. Er ist extrem fein und erzeugt beim Baden die charakteristische Staubwolke, die zeigt, dass sich das Fell optimal von überschüssigem Fett und Schmutz befreit. Nach dem Bad fühlen sich die Tiere spürbar flauschiger an und das Fell sieht gepflegt aus – im Gegensatz zu minderwertigem Sand, der einfach abperlt, ohne wirklich zu wirken. Ja, die Versandkosten sind hoch, aber wer Chinchillas artgerecht halten möchte, sollte nicht am falschen Ende sparen. Ich bestelle hier definitiv wieder.

My chinchillas love this, I recommend it as it's great quality, the best one I have used so far. Will keep buying it in the future. I do find it expensive as they love there dust baths. But I just use less of it.

少々お高いので、粗めの砂と混ぜて使っています。ほんとうにふわふわになりました。ただきめ細かいからか、部屋中砂だけになります。空気清浄は必須です。
