Your Best Friend in the Citrus World
An amazing addition to everyone's kitchen. If you want or need a Guaranteed way of only taken the citrus rind peel off without any of the pith, this will be your absolutely perfect kitchen treasure. I use mine daily on lemons, limes and oranges. You can make curly cues place then in empty jars in your refrigerator to add them later to brighten up your meals. You can also peel off the rind and not have to worry about pith. I've made beautiful dessert garnishes with the wide rind peels and with the ribbon curly cues. Easy tool to use and clean. It fits perfectly in your hands. I've also put the curly cues in a jar and lightly poured honey over them, gently stirred the honey for a great pick me up for my grandchildren or a cup of tea with family and friends.

Quality Kitchen Tool For Those Possessing Appropriate Respect
If you know your way around the kitchen, you appreciate sharp knives, because they make the job easier. Of course, you also know that if you are careless or don’t respect the danger posed by a sharp knife, you can pay a painful price for your inattention. This little gadget is cute and may lead some to forget that it is a sharp kitchen tool and fail to pay proper heed. There are several reviews by people who complain about the tool instead of realizing they are responsible for their folly. It is sharp and handles citrus rinds with ease. The zester component works well too. I used it to peel lemons to make oleo saccharem that I used in lemonade... incredible...! I’ve just started a batch with limes that will be a part of some epic Margaritas. My wife used the zester to make an Asian chicken dish pop lat week.I do note that it really takes just the skin of the fruit, leaving the pith behind. It doesn’t make for the thickness I prefer using in my Old Fashioned's, though, the goal is the oil in the skin, and this tool achieves that goal well, it is just not as visually pleasing as a thicker cut would be.If you are concerned by those reviews whining the product should be removed from the market because it is dangerous, a suggestion: Do a self-assessment of your own intelligence and kitchen experience and decide accordingly. And remember; half of all people are of below-average intelligence...

Perfect peeler for limoncello
This works perfectly for making limoncello. It feels just the skin from the lemon and not the pith. I see some complain that it peels too thin, get a potato peeler, that is not what this one is intended for.

Great for peeling the zest layer but be careful!
This works really well for removing the outer zest layer of lemons for limoncello without getting any of the pith. CAUTION: It is a bit awkward to use while trying to hold the lemon in a manner to keep your fingers away from the VERY sharp blade. The first time I used it I sliced a bit from from the tip of my thumb.

Zest or Peels?
This citrus peeler actually works! I had my doubts but I was glad to have this to peel lemons and limes making my job much easier. The. peeler has a side for peels and curls and another for just the removal of zest. It is sharp too so be careful!

Revised - Has become my Go to tool
Original Review: I make a lot of cocktails at home that call for Orange, Lime, or Lemon peels. My kitchen knives are admittedly and shamefully dull and a normal potato peeler was too narrow to bite off enough of the skin. I got this with the hopes that it would make getting the perfect strip easier, but while better than a potato peeler still didn't do what I was hoping. The strips are still a little too shallow and narrow for my liking. I will use it as a back up, but I ended up just buying a new knife for this purpose instead....Edit: Since Posting my original review I have used the tool a lot more and found that If I press a bit harder and it is a fresh fruit I get a thick enough strip for my preference. And there is no questioning it is easier than a knife. I don't ever use a knife for this purpose any more. I have changed my Review from 3-5 stars and recommend it for people who make a lot of cocktails!

Removes the lemon peel without any of the white pith.
I make limoncello for friends and neighbors. I have used a recipe that requires peeling the lemon and removing the white pith under the peel. This is a time-consuming operation. If you don't remove the white pith, the limoncello has a bitter taste. Unlike a vegetable peeler, the citrus peeler takes off just the peel in strips - no pith! This has saved me a lot of time. OXO is known for well-designed products, and this is another example. Even the handle is quite comfortable to hold.
