I bought this HDMI switch because I was running out of HDMI ports on my TV, and it solved the problem perfectly. I currently have multiple devices connected, including a streaming stick, gaming console, and Blu-ray player, and switching between them is quick and hassle-free. The picture quality is excellent with no noticeable loss in video or audio quality. Everything displays clearly, and the 4K signal passes through without any issues. The included remote is a nice bonus and makes switching inputs much more convenient than getting up every time. Setup took less than five minutes—just plug in your devices, connect the output to your TV, and you're ready to go. The switch automatically detects active devices, which is another feature I appreciate. The unit feels well-made, compact, and doesn't take up much space in my entertainment center. For anyone who needs additional HDMI ports without replacing their TV or constantly swapping cables, this is a great and affordable solution. Works great now I only need hdmi on my tv. The only thing I would change is to have it continue the last selection after it is turned off.

So I like the unit, good picture, good sound, good price. Auto switches when I turn another unit on so mostly hands free. Which is why the remote issue is so minor. The remote works with the unit perfectly, but seems to also affect my VIZIO TV. It turns the power off and changes inputs and mutes it when I try to use it to swap inputs on the switch. So I can't really use the remote as they overlapped VIZIO with the codes. Other than that its practically perfect.

Honestly, I was really disappointed when I lost the remote to my last HDMI switcher, because it was one of the best ones I had ever gotten, and it was from RadioShack, so no use looking to buy another one. It was a great product, just rather large, and the real issue is that you need the remote for it to work. For the old hdmi switcher you had to manually press the button on the front of it if you wanted to swap between the different HDMI inputs and outputs. Imagine my surprise when I get this one, thinking it will be as crummy and my first couple ones I ever got from Amazon, and I find that it works even better than the one that I just had to replace. The fact is, this switcher is a dream. It doesn't even really require you to use the remote, as it auto switches when it recognizes another input device has switched on. I have multiple game systems plugged into it, for my TV, and if you turn on a console, it will automatically swap to that input. And if the input is cut off, it will go to whatever is active, which for me is my roku. I honestly love this thing more than my trusty one from RadioShack, and that's saying something. It works phenomenally, and the remote control is honestly the perfect size. The buttons also all work nicely, and the fact that this one is smaller than the bulky ones I've bought in the past means it fits nicely where ever you need it to be. I cannot recommend this enough to anyone looking for a good HDMI switcher.

Dear Amazon Dwellers , The switch worked well solving the problems of the lack of hdmi ports on my TV. Sadly it lasted only 1 year then broke. I'm just glad I at least got a year out of the thing. Other than that, switch was easy to set up and worked as discribed. Merry Christmas, 2ed

I've purchased this item twice. Neither time did it work. The first time was Dec 2021. My mistake was not opening and testing this HDMI switcher within a couple months. By the time I opened it and attempted implementing it, it didn't work. Wouldn't function at all. No lights. I found a worse temporary solution. I've moved and decided to give the product another try. This version does light up, but it wouldn't hold a connection. After testing multiple 1.3, 1.4, 2.2, and other HDMI cable types, a consistent problem occurred. My monitor detects when connected devices are connected or turned on. Upon connecting my laptop through this switch, the monitor turns on and attempts to connect. My laptop screen would flash as if preparing to sync with another screen. After a couple seconds of blue screen, my monitor turns off. Another couple seconds pass and this cycle repeats. Monitor turns on. Both monitor and laptop screen blink as they sense each other. Connection fails and my monitor turns off. Repeat. I tested both power sources from both products to see if my original unit would work. Nope, but both power cords work with the newer version. You might be lucky enough to receive one of the functioning units many other reviewers seem to have received. I alternatively received 2 bad units. My disappointment is immeasurable and my setup is ruined. I'll be returning this and am undecided if I'll include both of my malfunctioning units in the box. Might keep the old one for target practice as returning it won't actually return the money I spent on it back in 2021. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and I'll take my money elsewhere.

I love this switch, and if another is needed will be buying this one again. This works right out of the box with zero troubleshooting required, and it switches easily and quickly. I briefly tested out the remote when I first got it (plugged in a couple devices and switched around) and it seems to work fine, however I only have 1 device currently plugged into it so I haven't given the remote any heavy duty use. More will be coming soon, so if there is anything of note, I'll come edit this review. The one thing I will say is it's a cheap plastic remote, so make sure to keep it out of reach of children, pets, or any other destructive forces in the house. The one thing I don't like is the placement of the HDMI out. They've put the HDMI to TV port on the side of the box, which means you have to leave space on the left side for the HDMI cable to come out of it and up to the TV. Ideally, it would be on the backside for better cable management/hiding of cables. Absolutely still worth having and using this switch, but that part is a bit obnoxious.

HDMI Switch SGEYR 5x1 HDMI Switcher 5 in 1 Out HDMI Switch Selector 5 Port Box with IR Remote : I'm running a Mac, a TiVo and a Blu-Ray player through this monitor and I needed to be able to switch between them without reaching behind the monitor to use their switch. It doesn't have a remote. At first, I was taking HDMI out of my Mac thinking that would be best since there would be no conversions, but it acted very strangely. I got random white flashes even when plugged straight into the monitor. Internet research lead me to some possible solutions, but none of them worked. And, when I plugged the Mac HDMI into this switch, things got even stranger. It gave me such high resolution that I could barely read the menus! I fiddled with it and since I swapped out all of the cables, I just blamed it on Apple. Why not, right? Then I got a thunderbolt to HDMI cable and came out of there into this switch and it's been smooth as silk ever since. My guess now is that the original problem has something to do with HDCP or some wack-a-do Apple thing. No matter. This switch does what it claims to do, very nicely.
