Ceratophrys: Horned Frogs as Pets: Common name: "Pac Man Frogs"

I'd purchased 2 pac man frogs @ an exotic pet show and only had the basics in mind as to how care for them. The book is a must for any of us going down that road. It tells all that we need to know about caring for these guys. I felt comfortable in my role, after learning from this book. It also explains some of the stories behind this creature. I am happy I took the time to read it. My frogs must be too, as they are growing wonderfully and even anticipate when it's their turn for my attentions. I catch them watching me (giraffe neck) when I'm in their room tending to my other critters.

Basic info on this splendid frogs.As said, better than most of the books out there on this subject.Why the need to write so many worded reviews?

Very detailed and well written book. We bought a baby Pacman Frog and it died in just a few days. So we purchased this book to make sure we knew how to properly care for a frog, before we buy the next one. Although this is not a thick book, it does contain all the information a new owner should know to properly care for a Pacman frog.

1. This would be a great addition if it were updated.2. He does a page on each species, talks about ensuring you get captive bred, costs of set up and maintenance (the lost is good, prices outdated), typical health problems, typical owner mistakes and a series if Q&A.3. Recommends crickets and sphagnum moss (downside) Neither are currently cinsidered good.4. Recommends a heat pad under the tank. BIG NO. because these frogs burrow, they can burn themselves. If using a heat pad, put it on the side if the tank about 2 inches both substrate level. However, ceramic heat emitters tend to work better.If this was updated, it would make a great option for some quick reference and first time owner info.

I payed over $10 and it didn't have one pic with color on the inside what's it cost to make this book .20 cents? Second of all; All of the "CARE ADVICE" it tells you is totally wrong if I followed these directions I would kill my Frog.i wish I could get my money back!!!!!!!!!!!

Great book for beginners to advance. You'll be happy you purchased this and so will your Pacman Frogs

I was really hoping this book would go into some depth on Horned frogs but found this book to be very thin on content. I was able to read the book from start to finish the same afternoon it was delivered. Other than some brief info on health issues the depth of the material this book contained is covered in simple one page care sheets commonly available. Also, I found some of the care recommendations to be outdated and no longer recommended for horned frogs. I do not recommend a person purchase this book but do hope better books specialized in horned frogs will be written in the future. As of right now, I recommend "Frogs and Toads" by Devin Edmonds as it goes into much greater depth on frog health, care and breeding. "Frogs and Toads" goes into much greater depth on horned frogs than what is offered by this book. I hope this review is helpful to you and good luck with your frogs!

il libro risulta molto bello dalla copertina, peccato che quando si va ad aprire per iniziare a leggere e confrontare le diverse tipologie di rane (di cui è necessario fare confronti fotografici) il tutto risulta fotocopiato in bianco e nero, con difficoltà nel visualizzare le differenza tra gli animali e le varie colorazioni, a volte sono presenti anche foto sgranate. contenuto molto generico.

Very well for frog's beginners owners.This little book is satisfactory for to know the live and care of horned frogs.

I am very sorry to say that this is not a book worth buying. It does give the necessary instructions on how to keep a pacman frog, but nothing more. Not even nice pictures. There are a few pictures in the book, but you will find much better ones everywhere else. This book addresses probably the beginner who does not wish to dive too deep into the subject. It is some kind of extended care sheet. What annoys me most is that every bit of information is repeated again and again. With smaller font size, smaller margins and fewer blank pages the information in this book could be condensed to a leaflet of 10 pages!The book does indeed provide the basic facts, but it is not fun to read it and for the price it is just too short.

Really helpful .bought this book for my brother who wants a pac man frog and it covered all the terms.now we got a happy healthy pac man frog
