Mitaki ELANT2 Lights Japan 30-Bulb LED Lantern [Misc], 5-7/8 x 9-3/8 x 5-7/8, Silver/Black

Number of LEDs means nothing in this case. Claims 30 LEDs but the light output is pretty disappointing. It cost me 17 dollars including shipping and all of it is pretty much a waste. I would have returned it rightaway if it was sold by Amazon. Uses 4 D batteries, however, the light output is very low - the word cheap is written all over it! Battery compartment door is clumsy and the dimmable rheostat is too loose. I also bought a Rayovac SE3DLN Sportsman Xtreme LED Lantern from Amazon for $25 including shipping. Rayovec uses only 3 D batteries and produces about 2-3 times higher light output, is approximately half the size and feels quite sturdy. Product title reads Mitaki- JAPAN, however, it's cheap china made! Take home message is do not spend money to buy disappointment!

This lantern is a nice general use light. The graduations on low are not that effective, but when tuned up to full, it is quite bright.
