This is a great knife - does the job perfectly. It feels strong enough when trying to open the little things - no worries about the blade twisting or jumping. The guard helps inspire confidence espciaclly in a second time shucker... Right tool for the job - makes all the differnce. If you like your Oysters freshly shucked, then you need a shucking knife. 14 year old son takes pleasure in asking if we're shucking don't know why.

Very good quality item, I could see this is the last knife I will be to buy for opening oyster. If the point is sharper it would get full 5 star, not big concern though... It serves its purpose well!!

This is a really handy gadget for shucking oysters for those with a passion for these delicious sea delicacies. No more cut fingers; easy to use and of a sturdy stainless steel construction. The plastic sheath covering the blade is a bit flimsy so keep the impliment away from little fingers - it's sharp!

I bought this knife ahead of Christmas Eve oyster platter as a treat for my family (we have previously struggled with a screwdriver!). It looks beautiful but it is super easy to skid with the tip not getting enough purchase between upper and lower Oyster clam shell muscle attachments. At the very first useage my daughter cut her finger very badly and we had to eventually resort to using the screwdriver approach again. It probably has a nifty technique, but I would say you should absolutely have appropriate cutting gloves - particularly on the hand which is holding down the Oyster. They are irregularly shaped and can slip so it's important to have good confident purchase. This Oyster knife should have cutting gloves as an additional extra or recommended for use. I'm afraid I had to throw it away immediately... too afraid for someone else to have a similar accident and a busy time over Christmas for the faff of a return. Waste of time and money in our case. Someone else may have worked it out and love it! Just beware.

Good product that is sturdy, easy to use and comfortable in your hand.

Had looked at few product and made the decision to buy this one, ok to use but the joint between handle and blade could be made stronger, it could be a weak point for long term use
