Great Snails, Fantastic Company
I've ordered plants and fish from Aquatic Arts before and I was extremely impressed by their packaging and health of the fish they provided. So, when I needed some scavengers for my tanks, I opted to once again take a look at Aquatic Arts. And once again, I'm not disappointed but pleasantly surprised with their quality and care. I bought these three snails as a cleanup crew for my 35 tall hex. They threw in a bonus snail too, so now I have four, which is awesome and shows they care. They came wrapped well, I acclimated them to my tank, and set them free. Within minutes, they were all crawling around my tank like living vacuums. They are beautiful and healthy. Their shells add a great contrast to my tank and they are truly gorgeous for being snails. They're also really fast for being snails; I turn around and they're all in a new spot, cleaning my rocks or tube lines, on my Amazon sword plant leaves. I've only had them for a few days, but they look strong, aren't shy, and are a great addition to my previously less vibrant tank. I will continue to always order from Aquatic Arts because their care, knowledge, and meticulousness is unmatched. * Update * Just a mere two days latter, these snails have managed to clean the algae from my tank amazingly. They crawl up and down my sword plant, vacuuming it, and now the rocks are nearly half cleaned already. No need for me to get down and dirty cleaning the tank now. Perfect scavengers. Also, just a warning; I've noticed they like to crawl up the tank to get some air. So leave a little bit of room between the water and the top hatch so they can breathe. I've learned, amazingly, that these snails have one lung to breathe and an apparatus that functions like a fish gill so that they can breath amphibiously.

HAPPY, HEALTHY SNAILS AND GREAT SERVICE
The snails arrived quickly after I ordered them. They were packaged snugly in this "fluff" with a heating pack, and nestled in a damp paper towel. I read in the reviews that many people received an extra snail, and I was hoping that would happen to me as well haha...and it did. They sent 4 snails. They were around the size of a quarter, maybe a bit smaller...in my third picture, I'm holding the biggest one and the smallest one in comparison to a coin. That should give you an idea of their size. I wasn't sure how to know if they were alive, since they were all tucked in their shells. I figured once I put them in the tank, I would know by whether or not they started to move, etc. I put three snails in my main 60gal cichlid tank, and the extra one in my small guppy breeding tank. My biggest concern was that my monster Jack Dempsey would eat and/or kill them, since he has a history of turning small tank mates into snacks. When I first added them to the tank, they did not move or come out of their shells for an hour or so. Jack approached them and nipped at the back of their shell for a moment, but I guess he decided they wouldn't make a good snack and he left them alone...same with the other large fish in there. After maybe an hour and a half, I came to check on them and they were all crawling around, hanging out on the glass and everything. They are extremely active and I was surprised at how quickly they felt comfortable! The snail I added to my breeding tank is probably the least active, but I'm assuming it's because it is a small, crowded tank. He was also the "runt" of the litter. His name is Gary. I may move him to the cichlid tank and see if he's happier there with his snail friends. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase. The snails are beautiful, happy and healthy, and surprisingly compatible with my chomp-happy Dempsey. This is possibly my favorite Amazon purchase I've ever made. Also, when the snails were sent in the mail, I received a friendly email from the company offering customer care for any questions, concerns or problems with the snails. I believe that if something had gone wrong, or if a snail didn't survive the shipping process, the company would have made things right. They seem to generally care about their customers and aquatic life. Of course they are a business, but I think they enjoy what they do and are living off of their passion and hobby. If I ever get into live plants, or if I want to make any more 'live' purchases for my tank, I will definitely go through this company.

Great Mystery Snail!
My snail arrived safely. Hew grew to a nice size. He had a long life. Tip.....if your snail happened to escape the tank and you don't realize right away and find him in the floor. Don't give up on him! He could still be alive as they can survive in the right conditions out of water for a little while. I dropped mine back in the tank and the next afternoon he was back to his cleaning duties!

Overall, quite pleased
This is my 3rd or 4th purchase from InvertObsession and it went as smoothly as all the previous transactions. It is, however, the first time I texted the owner, since I had a few questions regarding the snails. He replied within the hour and answered my questions to my satisfaction. Thumbs up to that! The snails arrived alive and well, shipped via 2nd day USPS. They were in a knotted plastic bag with some water, which was set inside a Styrofoam cup that was packed with insulation, and the cup itself was further packed into more insulation that filled the postal box. I actually got four snails total -- 3 were the golden mysteries that I had ordered, and there was an extra black mystery snail in the lot as well. They were all roughly 1" in size. It's been a few days now, and all four snails are still alive and active in my tanks. Two of the golden mystery snails are pretty much as pictured on the page -- with a beautiful, pure golden shell. The third one is covered in some greenish algae/growth as well as having an odd "groove" along its shell, almost like an old injury/scrape of some sort. The snail seems to be acting fine, though, and the shell itself does not appear to be functionally compromised, so I'm not really concerned for it's health. It's more a matter of aesthetics. Between the owner's quick replies to my questions and the extra bonus snail, I'd say I'm quite pleased with the overall experience. I feel that these snails are probably in better health than the ones you'd find at the LFS.

Great seller. Love the snails.
Arrived in a timely manner and packaged great. One snail didn’t make it and the seller was quick to respond and solve that issue. I appreciate being treated so fairly. I would order again without hesitation. The remaining snails are doing great.
