The DEI Form-A-Shield is made from 10mil dimpled aluminum with a 1/4" high temperature basalt insulation and can withstand direct temps to +1400 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s a high temperature version of Floor & Tunnel Shield II. The Basalt based woven fabric insulator can be applied directly to hot surfaces. It molds easily to exhaust manifolds, pipes and mufflers and provides outstanding performance in reflecting and blocking heat. Easily trimmed to size, Form-A-Shield is excellent to use as a heat barrier for transmissions near hot exhausts. Blocks heat very well
This stuff is amazing at blocking heat. I made a heat shield out of it to protecty starter, also wrapped some around my starter for extra protection. Now I have no more hot starts .

Good but wear gloves
Overall I’m very happy with this stuff. I wanted a heat shield for my new headers that was removable and this seemed to be the best solution. Definitely plan out with cardboard before going into it. And definitely wear gloves, the fiber glass material gets very itchy! working great so far

Works great
It’s awesome. And the sheet is way bigger than I thought. You could wrap the headers in like 1 cars with the amount you get. Works great.

Bendable, sturdy, great heat while to prevent A wire getting burnt in case one became loosened.
