my gast is flabbered
i've only been running this for two days. two days and i had to run over here and tell you all that this is absolutely worth the money. noting that a lot of people had filter repurchase issues, i made a point of buying two replacement filters while they're in stock. when i replace those filters, i'll buy another two sets. and so on. and hopefully that will mean i never run into the problem of them being out of stock when i need them. to the unit. it's much smaller than i was expecting. i mean i read the dimensions, but it just didn't register in my brain that it was half the unit size for 100sqft more filtering power over my old air-filter. it's all plastic (good and bad) so it weighs almost nothing, making it very easy to move around, and i was able to put it on a smaller shelf in the office space than the older unit which was made of steel and had quite a large footprint. air filtering quality is awesome. my old filter was almost a decade old. since it was built air-filtration needs around the globe have exploded, and with that need, the technologies have advanced apace. this little guy packs a HUGE punch for its little footprint. and while if you're not used to having an air filter on all the time, its high setting will feel quite loud to you at 54dB, i assure you that's 4dB lower than my old unit which only filtered 230sqft with half the efficiency. that's a huge advance in fan and motor design to get that. after plugging it in the first time, figuring out where and how it place it to get the correct air draw, and leaving it running for an hour i went in to see what it had achieved. after that first hour, walking into the office there was a noticeable change, for the better, in the air quality over the room i'd just been in. There was the ever so slightest astringent smell at first, but it wasn't overpowering and it did dissipate after the first 6 or so hours, so that's not a bad off-gas for the filters themselves. when a cigarette is smoked in the room, it pulls the air towards it quite effectively, filters it and sends it back out into the room fresh as can be. enough so that i don't have to put a face mask on to breath in the room when someone is smoking. that's a noticeable improvement over the old filter where i'd have to put a face mask on and leave it on for about 10 minutes to let all the smoke in the air get filtered with the old filter. as to price. i paid over 300$ new for my old filter. it worked beautifully, while they made the filters i needed, but the filters were also 100$/ea. so, this bad boy being 100$ for the filter unit itself, and 40$ for the pair of replacement filters feels like steal when it works this well. highly recommend. and kudos to Okaysou for manufacturing and selling a cost effective and high functioning product. please continue to do so and you will have a loyal customer. UPDATE: after about 8 months of continuous operation "The Squeak" began. I disassembled the unit (yes, this voids the warranty, but since I didn't have the warranty what did I care) pulled the fan off the motor and sprayed a minimal amount of graphite lubricant into the rear side of the motor that was accessible without unmounting it from the chassis. This did absolutely nothing. Ha! I bet you thought I was going to tell you it worked a charm. I really didn't expect it to, but I was hoping I could be lazy. Disassembled it again, dug out a random can of silicone lubricant, sprayed it again. This helped, for a brief time. When the squeak reared its ugly head again I finally bit the bullet and unmounted the motor from the chassis entirely so I could access the front port and its wicking. Drowning that with 3 in 1 oil has kept it running quieter now than when it was brand new. ... "if you're gong to do a job, do it right"

Excellent customer service! Five-Year Warranty. Highly recommended.
Bought this unit 6/2019, and after about a week my wife noticed that our bedroom (12' x 16') was more conducive to sleeping: I couldn't really tell a difference, but she said I was no longer snoring or having respiratory issues, and when I opened the purifier to check the filters, there was a goodly amount of dust on the pre-filter, and even on the third layer filter. So I know it was doing some good. The unit was quiet and worked pretty much around the clock without issue for about 18 months, when it started to develop a rattle, then a grinding noise. Fan bearing failing, and it finally refused to spin the fan at all, though the control panel still worked. I set it aside and forgot about it until 11/22 when something jogged my memory and I remembed it. Emailed the company and within 24 hours received a very courteous reply asking for a video of the problem and proof of purchase (turns out the unit has a *FIVE* year warranty!) and within a week a brand new unit arrived and has been working perfectly, just as the old one. So I'd say: 5 stars for the unit functions—seems to clear the air in a bedroom reasonably well 3.5 stars for durability—I expected to get at least 3+ years out of the unit; first one failed in 1.5 5.0+ stars for the warranty—long term, and honored quickly and courteously; unusual in a world of 1-year, or even 90 days(!) warranty protections 5.0+ stars for customer service from Okaysou! I'll buy from their company again, just because of the customer service. That's something increasingly rare these days where phone calls go unreturned and email are ignored.

A must have for the West Coast during wildfire season
We live in Washington State and the smoke this year from the California and Oregon forest fires was very bad. For our son with asthma, this unit was vital in cleaning the air of the smoke particles. It works well for pet dander and dust also. We have the smaller units in the bedrooms and we only need to run them 3 or 4 hours a day, they're so powerful. We can really tell the difference - the air is so clean. It has helped with my allergies (I have a kitty who sleeps on my bed). I'm sneezing less and my eyes are less itchy. It clears the air of cooking smells too but in an open concept kitchen and living room it isn't immediate. The only drawback is the timer setting. I would like to set it to run a few hours when I go to bed but when the time is up, the unit sings a soft little 3 note song. I'm a light sleeper so it wakes me up. My parents have this same unit though and they never hear it. (The smaller units emit a long beep) Be aware that this unit should be 18 inches from the wall when operating. I got around that by turning the unit around so that the air intake side faces the room. Also, a sticker on the back of the unit reminding consumers to remove the plastic around the filters would be a good idea. I'm glad I read a review about someone turning it on without realizing the filters come sealed. The booklet doesn't mention the plastic around the filters until the section on filter replacement. The back is easy to open and close and the filters fit snugly without a track - a gentle push or pull is all that is needed. The manufacturer recommends vacuuming the filters regularly. I do so about once a month, outside, with a mask, and then toss the vacuum cleaner bag. The booklets says the filters should last 6 - 8 months or 1500 hours. Overall, we're very pleased and would recommend this unit to others.

Seems to do a good job.
I’m only giving this a 4 because it has not been tested long term but so far so good. Noise level on low is very quite. On high it makes noise but I am not sure there is such a thing as noiseless for this type of air filter. I can see from the filter that it is catching lots of dust and pet hair and thAt is a good thing. I have not used timer so can not comment. My only concern is that it does not seem that this is a popular brand in the US. So I worry about long term availability of filters. The filters are a fair price but they never seem to go on sale and there is no price saving on multiples so that’s a little disappointing.

High recommended. Air quality improved greatly
My new apartment has this weird smell which bothers me a lot. This makes me decide to buy this purifier. The installation is very easy and you just need to remove the two filters (one white and one black) from the plastic bags. After 24 hours I can tell a difference upon entry. I have been using this after one week now and my apartment does not smell bad any more! It does its job! I am now glad that I bought this purifier and and it is indeed a good deal compared with purifiers of the approximate size. Features that I found good: - 3 levels of speed. - Sleep mode will put the fan at the lowest speed and the indicator light will be off. - Timer that can be used when I leave home. - There is a button looking like documents. I figured it out that it is actually the filter replacement indicator light. - Child clock (I feel it is a useful feature for those who have children in their house) The way I use it: I put it in the living room and let it run on the middle or highest level during the day. I move it to my bedroom when I sleep with the lowest level running (It is super quiet on the lowest level and I can barely hear it). Now I like to wake up with fresh air every day!

Great room air purifier
We use this to clean smoke smell from a room that is about 300 sq ft. It works very well to clear any odors and seems to work within an hour or so to clear most of the smell. There is a 3 speed fan, with lowest level very quiet and hardly noticeable. Highest speed is really not too loud either. This unit must be placed some 50 cm (20") from walls, so it does need to sit out in the room a bit. We store it against a wall and move it out when in use. It is very light and portable, so this is not an issue. How it should face is unclear, but doesn't seem to matter. The sleep mode can be set for 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours before it shuts itself off. That also seems to work well. The only issue we have is that the lights on the control panel don't seem to work or start to just stay on. The on/off light blinks when it is off. We could figure out what the settings were, but it was a bit confusing at first. Okaysou's customer service is spectacular! When we mentioned this, they asked several troubleshooting questions, and then sent us a complete new replacement. The new one seems to also have some "light" issues - the child lock light stays on - but it is a very minor annoyance and certainly no reason not to buy this. It works and works well, plus it is not too noisy.

Fantastic product, fantastic service
I've had one of these filters in my apartment for about six months; just bought my parents one for their living room, because you can't imagine how much of a difference this product actually makes in air quality. But before I go deeper into that, a story about Okaysou customer support... I ordered two replacement filters; one got lost. This being a pandemic, and shipping being disrupted, the combination of backorder and slow shipping meant they had to actually manufacture a new filter and see it shipped. Okaysou handled this beautifully, with clear communication, and were incredibly apologetic about it to boot. I got my replacement filter at the earliest possible moment, and they even sent me updates to let me know when it was manufactured and sent. They genuinely went above and beyond. So that said... yes, it's also a nice bit of luck that the product is incredible. It's a fantastic bit of engineering. Filters are incredibly easy to replace/maintain (if you opt to vacuum from time to time, which I do). It's rugged without being heavy, powerful without being noisy, and most importantly, works so well that within the first hour, my allergies vanish. I'm incredibly satisfied, is what I'm saying. (You might've picked up on that already.)

We can breath again
Quarantine has been hard of everyone in our house, even the dogs. With cooking every day, dogs smelling like dogs and being too hot outside to let the house air out, it was getting miserable. After two days of running, the air was clean and breathable. Gone was the smell of grease and all the other odors cooking every day introduces into the house. Admittedly, its taken an increase of trips to the groomer to alleviate the dog odor but this machine will even clean that odor out after an hour or two. We love it. Only have to run it a couple of days a week now but it's great. I put a monthly reminder in my calendar to use the vacuum and clean the rough dust collection off the filter. That should give us a bit more life before filter replacement is necessary. I highly recommend THIS air cleaner because it can be put up by a wall, out of the way and it looks good, it's quiet and everyone can breath.

Great product
What a great product. Since buying this air filter I don’t think we have turned it off. Originally we had a fan beside our bed but we were regularly cleaning the dust from the vent. With this air filter you can easily remove the washable filter from the unit and give it a quick wash under the tap or give it a quick vacuum. The unit on low makes a low hum similar to white noise and has been great for sleeping, with ours sitting at the end of the bed. We have also noticed a change in the quality of air and helps remove hair and dander that comes from our Aussie shepherd who like to sleep in the bedroom at night. Definitely worth it for the price

Air Purifier
This purifier is a great buy. The digital on screen view is perfect. The fan selection, speed, and duration are excellent. The noise level is softer than an butterfly in the wind...hardly noticeable. Its very easy to operate.

Best deal in an air purifier!
Was told of this unit by my sister who loved it! I can see why - our furniture always had a layer of dust no matter how many times it was dusted. Since we turned this unit on the dust problem has been eliminated completely. So quiet you only know it’s running because the power light and settings are lit. My sister just ordered a second one for her upstairs.

Okaysou 8L is a good product and have it in my living room.
Sure clears the air and picks up a lot of cat and dog hair. Have had no trouble with the product and when I couldn’t do something to get it to turn on the company got right back to me and told me to tap the on button three times. It worked amazingly! It comes with five filters, and have had to buy the first three replacement filters once. Have had it for over a year. Bought in September replacement filters that fit Okaysou from a company that says it will fit this air filter, but have been waiting weeks for the replacement filters from this other company. Apparently lost in transit. I have nothing bad to say about this machine and the size 8L for the living room is perfect. Company that makes them is in the US and are readily available to offer help or answer questions.
