Rubies DC Comics: DC Superheroes Costume Set for Kids, Boy's No Size

This set of costumes is PERFECT for a lil superhero! My 4 year old son is in love with them! The fun value is astronomical and makes the price, priceless. I got the set from the warehouse of Amazon and it came in 2 days. The fabric is thin and breathable, perfect for the southern heat. And my son has been running around in one of the costumes since they arrived. You tie on the cape at the belly with the torso attached, which is fabulous and keeps from having anything choking them around the throat. Size wise I'd rate this ages 3-5 depending on how big your kid is. My son is 40 inches tall and 38 lbs and it fits him perfectly. If he was much bigger I don't think the chest part of the costume would totally cover him. For what I paid and how much he LOVES this kind of stuff, there are no words for how great this product is. If you have a lil guy or gal who just loves superheroes, this is a great set for imagination. It teaches them to "save" things. My son has rescued the cat from the backyard swing eight times already - the cat is not amused but I am! If you're expecting expensive, high quality fabric - this isn't the set for you. It's just light, thin, fun fabric meant to be worn and worn out by little people. Don't buy it expecting something worthy of the movies, get it for your little one to go crazy in.

I was expecting the fabric to be really cheap looking after reading all the reviews. I bought this item anyway because my nephews are really into superheros. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. Although the fabric is thin, I like the fact that they are light and can be thrown easily into a travel bag. The kids don't get overheated and they are easy to put on. My only suggestions for improvement: I wish the masks had longer strips of velcro in the back for better adjustment. The bands are elastic with a small strip of velcro, but even at its tightest setting, they kept falling down my 2 year old nephew's head and blocking his vision. I ended up tying the back into a knot, and then it was too tight because you can't really tie a knot at the very end due to the velcro. The masks fit my 4 year old nephew just fine. I also wish the the arm and leg pieces had velcro for adjustment too. Overall, I am very satisfied and would definitely recommend. I am told that my nephews have worn them every day since Christmas. They got a lot of toys this year (we're a big family), especially lots of Iron Man stuff. Surprisingly, this was the gift they play with all the time. I guess because they can pretend to be the superhero instead of wearing a character logo on a T-shirt. So simple, yet so fun.

I decided to go cheap this year for costumes. I got tired of spending $35 a piece for 4-6 costumes which got covered up by coats because it was too cold/rainy to go out without one. Plus with three super hero crazy lovin' boys, it was a hard deal to pass up. Before you get too excited, remember these are just sort of a tabard like thing. They slip over the head and tie around the waist. Personally, I was cool with that. That means no trying to dress warmly and squeeze the costume over the top. I was able to dress them in everyday clothes (complete with jacket) and then just throw this on top. Guess what? Not one sniffle or cough this Halloween! Cheapie costumes for the WIN!! Batman comes with his tabard (cape on the back) and a mask. Superman has red leg covers (these just pull on, like thin padded leg guards) Robin has green arm guards and a mask. The masks attach by elastic band that join in the back by a tiny piece of velcro. I can see this piece wearing out if it's worn a lot, and the masks were by far the worst part of this set. They were a great detail piece to add but they don't really fit the face well. I had a four year old wearing the Batman mask and it was just sort of like the eyes didn't set in the right place and then a 9 year old wearing the Robin mask and he had the same trouble. Almost like it poked them in the eyes to wear them. I don't think it was a child size issue seeing as they were so spread apart in size. But the best thing yet is that they now have three super hero costumes I can leave out and let them play with all the time if they want. No more having to tie on a blanket for a cape. :)

I bought this for a friend's 3 year old boy, as a birthday gift. The tunics remind me of a kids school basketball jersey tunic material, a little thin, but that did not phase the kids. Both the 3 and 4 year old brothers put them on as soon as they opened them and wore them the rest of the evening, at a restaurant even, and all the patrons around us kept talking about how adorable they were in them. They are easy for the little ones to put on and off themselves - lightweight and not hot. The masks and accessories are fantastic and really complete the set. I will say, the Robin costume is my favorite, it was sooo darn cute on the kids, but my 6 year old daughter looked pretty darn cute as "batgirl" too in the Batman one. Overall, LOVE this item and will definitely be giving it to others. Great deal for a 3 costume set.

I got this set because my son loves to dress up and the price was right. If memory serves, I paid about $17 for this set on lightning deal. I figured that he would be able to get some enjoyment out of it but that the quality would be suspect. My first impressions after receiving it were the same as when I ordered, that the quality wasn't very high and that it wouldn't last too long. The costumes look just like the pictures which is good; no issues there, but the material felt kind of thin and like it wouldn't hold up to my 4 year old. After about 8 months of having this set, I must say that I am impressed. My son wears the Batman costume probably 4 times a week. It has held up just fine to the wear and tear that he puts it through. I would highly recommend this set to anyone who has kids that like to dress up as super heroes.

This box of three costumes is a good buy. I gave it three stars because of the fabric. While both grandchildren loved it and it was easy to take on and off quickly, it is flimsy. The length was a little long for my 3.5 and 4 yr olds. But they had a lot of fun with it and they changed quickly from one super hero to the next. There is a tie in the back which requires an adult. I would still recommend it for the dress up box at grandma's.

My son has always been a Batman fan. We first purchased this product when he was 2yrs old, so he could stop wearing his sisters' princess dress-up clothes. It is now three years later and he still wears it practically everyday ... sometimes even two costumes at once for extra powers. He also carries a costume in his backpack everywhere we go, in the event there is an emergency that requires a superhero. These costumes are simple for him to get on and off without parental assistance unlike the regular jumpsuit hero costumes sold during Halloween. This Summer we happen to be at the Jersey shore on Superhero day and since he had his costumes with him, he was able to join in all the dress-up fun without being overly hot. He even let his sisters borrow the other costumes, so they could participate in the various contests. We all had a blast. The set we originally purchased had a black Batman mask and has been very durable. We wash them quite often, because he wears them almost non-stop. The fabric hasn't faded and none of the symbols have washed off. I wash them in cold water, with Tide HE. I, also, add Oxyclean if there are heavy stains dry it on low. They are still going strong after three years. We love this product so much that it is the birthday gift we give to his friends at their birthday parties. We have received nothing but compliments. P.S. He wants Santa to get him a 2nd set this year, so that he can have the same "blue mask" that the Batman, Brave and the Bold wears.

Our 3-year-old son was thrilled with this present (and it is hard to achieve with so many gifts and toys in his life), and I was pleased with its quality as well. I like the fact that the masks are made of fabric with lining, which makes them more comfortable and I suspect more durable than the cheap plastic I expected. The colors are nice and bright, and the complete outfits look just as pictured. The cape is a little long for my 3-year-old, but not unconfortably/dangerously so. His 13-year-old cousin played with him, and was able to wear the costume, too, so the age range is describe appropriately, too. Not of the least importance that the set takes VERY little space. I would recommend this product to any kid who loves role-playing and is into super heroes.

Easy for kids to put on and take off. Great for role play. Not too hot or heavy to wear.

Gave this to my niece's 3 young boys for Christmas. They absolutely loved them. The 3 1/2 year old put one of the costumes on Christmas Day and the only time it was off in the next 2 days was for bedtime at which time my niece washed it out so it was ready for the next day . Great buy at $26.00.
