Probably should have been called 'Need For Speed: Burnout'
I've seen all of the criticism about this game not 'fitting in' with the Need For Speed franchise, and I can understand that. I was never interested in the micro-managing aspects of other racing titles, where you had to figure out which engine, which tires, which body moulding to buy...I just want to drive and have fun. This game delivers that experience.I loved Burnout: Paradise. It grew boring, however, because there was no "ok, now what?" factor to it. You drove, you crashed, you raced, but there was no 'skin in the game' feeling to it. The entire time I played that game, I was thinking of the NFS games like Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted, and fervently wishing that Burnout: Paradise had THAT kind of gameplay.Well, now it does. I've told my friends that this is basically Burnout: Paradise with police chases. And that makes it awesome, fun, and exciting. Collecting the new cars is fun, beating the challenges is fun, trying to beat my friends' accomplishments in the game is fun. I play games to have FUN, not to construct a factually accurate racing platform with minute attention to detail! It looks great, the sound is great, and it's one of those 360 titles that I can throw in and play for a few free minutes and have a little fun, without having to worry about reaching a waypoint, a quest location, or a pivotal plot moment. Just get in and drive. If you can accept it for what it is, it's great fun. If you expected something more Need For Speed-ish...you will probably be disappointed.

This game is awesome? Are the graphics mind-blowing compared to other racing games? Nope, they're about the same. Does this game have world-famous real-life tracks and courses? Nope, but it does have a huge and well-designed open environment that is great for cruising, racing, and causing havoc with the help of cops who have questionable AI.I love the flexibility of this game. I also like that it is as challenging as you want it to be. If you want to be the best driver, kill all the Most Wanted cars, and get great times, you can do that. If you want to be crazy and get the most insane crash ever, you can do that! If you want to put spoked low-rider tires on your car along with an epic montage of the Virgin Mary destroying NYC, you can d....oh wait, you can't do that. But my point is, this game is sweeeeeeet! Now, if you're looking for a by-the-book super real-life game (like, say, Gran Turismo) this isn't it. Tons of great cars from tons of great brands, good mods, but not exactly realistic in terms of tuning and racing rules--it's not supposed to be. Cheers!

Excellent Arcade Racer and has more depth than I first thought.
I've put my time in on NFS Hot Pursuit (PS3) and NFS The Run (360), maxing out all the trophies and obtaining 100% with all the DLC. Easily a couple of hundred hours between them. I find Most Wanted equally as good as Hot Pursuit, for obvious reasons as it's Criterion - the same developer. Going into this as an arcade racer, geared more to the action/fun side of things you'll love it. While it may lack the underlying physics engine of say Forza Horizons it by no means drives like a brick. As an arcade racer it's the perfect pick up and quickplay game. Everything is seamless and there is almost no loading. Everything just flow together without a loading screen and that's greatly appreciated.I've got 44 hours into Most Wanted and I'm at 42/46 achievements completed on 360. The achievements are more Single Player focused by far, but my public multiplayer experience has been great and it's something I'm happily working through in order to max out all the car mods on the cars I like. Completing every race in 1st with every car will take a lot longer than I expected, along with unlocking all the Single player and multiplayer mods. It's fast, looks excellent and the experience is exactly the arcade racer I was expecting. Another win.

GREAT FUN, BUY USED!
I had a lot of fun with this game and love getting back to Need for Speed again as it is one of my favorite video game series. The game play is smooth and new for a need for speed game that incorporates good aspects from other video games that I have played recently! It is very social with it's mixture of online and campaign mode playing and is new with the fact that these two are combined in a lot of ways! Anyone that has complaints about that either did not have any friends with interest in this game or did not have an Xbox live gold. These are not needed to have fun, as I didn't have live for a week of so, but it is helpful in continuing playing after making your way through the most wanted list. This is a must buy for all former Need for Speed players and drives everywhere. Buying the game used if you can to save money, you don't really get any extra content in the new one!

the worse...
This has got to be the worst car game ever by EA... oh my. Purchased by mistake, was thinking it was the second release on hot pursuit with a new name but it was not. I can drive pass cops doing 100+ and they don't do anything, yet if I hit them they will come after me. Someone posted this game was like burnout but I disagree, burnout is fun the play. This game is boring. Look at game "driver" it's an driving game that has a story to it and multiplayer is awesome. My first couple of hours playing just sucked, cars have way too much grip and the game is full of glitches... actually followed a car floating in air with the front of the car pointed to the sky as it floated horizontal to the ground then it just disappeared. Thank goodness I only paid $25 for it, even at that cost it was too much. Another thing that is getting on my nerves with EA is the code needed to play online. It makes it difficult to sell your games. Who is going to buy a used copy then turn around and give EA $10 for a code? Forces people to buy new, killing the used game market.
