Turner acrylic gouache 24 colors set school (japan import) by Turner color

I'm no expert, but these are really nice paints. This is the 2nd set of Turners I've ordered. (I also have the Japonica set.) I love the colors of this 24 tube set. Swatching them, I found them to be super vibrant, creamy, and surprisingly pigmented. This is the best set to start with if you're a beginner. They are an excellent value. One tip I have is to make absolutely 100% sure your tube caps are screwed on securely and tightly, as the paint will dry out in the tube if air gets to it. Learned this the hard way. Heed my words. But these paints are much favorite acrylic based gouache for newbies.

These paints are awesome, honestly, the paints themselves are a really high quality gouache paint and i would reccomend them to anyone who loves painting with easy cleanup. The freebies (the brushes, towel, cleaner, and mixing booklet) are great quality and the carrying case cuts clean up and travel time in half. The paints are vibrant and really easily worked with. A fair warning if youve never worked with gouache before, they dry really quickly, so youve got to mix and paint fast. Id reccomend using them on watercolor paper or bristol and they can get dry at times so id reccomend a smooth textured paper to get perfectly smooth lines. These are also water soluble and can easily be used like a water color, but once they are entirely dry they are waterproof and matte. The fact you get 2 large bottles of titanium white is extremely helpful since you will likely be using alot of it. The normal paint bottles are pretty small, but the quality makes the price completely worth it. And every color is available to be purchased individually for about 4 dollars a piece depending on the color. A steep price for a tiny tube of paint but these are really worth it and a little goes a long way.

Great product. I first bout the 12 pack, loved them. Bought the 24 pack and now notice they are half the size. Many box sets, a little confusing. These tiny tubes won't last long. More plastic packaging in the landfill. Triple check the ml size before you order.

I’ve read reviews complaining about these paints arriving in bad condition. Mine all arrived in good condition and came out of the tubes smooth and silky. The instructions are in Japanese, but having already googled about, I knew to dilute them 2:1 with water. That is the consistency for full opaque coverage that moves easily with the brush. The white is another matter; it is only opaque at full consistency. I will stick to my white ink for full opacity in white. This small tube will be useful for mixing colors. I made a portrait and was able to glaze several layers of transparent glaze on top of an opaque layer, which was very useful for blending. It has a slightly chalky feel to the touch when dry, but it doesn’t look chalky, just matte. The colors are vibrant and a very small quantity goes a very long way. Another complaint that people have is the tube sizes, but it makes sense that they’re small given that they’re meant to be diluted. These are not the very top of the line, but they outperformed my other two mid-range sets by leaps and bounds. I will update my review if I have any trouble with the paint quality after some time passes and I’ve been storing them carefully to prevent drying out.

Update: they're just so smooth and beautiful. Added these to a small 16 well stay wet palette from Transon like a diy himi gouache, but these are way better. No streaks or anything, can get beautiful light washes or smooth opaque layers. Will get the 20ml tubes once I run out of these. So vibrant and delicious and affordable. New to gouache, especially acrylic gouache. Still need to practice and learn blending and more techniques, but they have been fun to use as a wash of color or more opaquely. Love them! Would like to try their regular gouache later on as well for fun. (Insta: @artofpana, I'm a beginner but trying to practice more when I have time).

I got a recommendation from a local artist to try this gouache and my goodness it is so nice and so wonderful for the price!! the color range is really good and just AAA i cannot rave about these enough! I would say for a beginner wanting to get into gouache this may not be the one for you as these do dry quick! if you are a beginner looking for gouache try watercolor gouache, you can activate it for longer and it is lower stress! BUT if you are looking for an acrylic gouache trust me, they're good!

These colors look great! Never dissatisfied with products from Japan. Great value for the money. Color variety is excellent.

Étant artiste amateur, j'aime peindre à la gouache, à l'aquarelle et à l'acrylique. Je voulu essayer ce type de peinture qui est entre la gouache et l'acrylique. En France nous avons un équivalent chez liquitex mais le prix est plus élevé. Ce set vient du Japon et la notice est écrite exclusivement en japonais. Ces tubes s'appliquent et se travaillent comme de la gouache, idéalement sur du papier aquarelle. Vous pouvez aussi peindre des objets avec. Les couleurs sont vives, éclatantes mais avec un rendu mat. Contrairement à la gouache, une fois sèche la peinture ne peut plus être utilisée (comme l'acrylique). Les 24 tubes permettent d'avoir une belle palette de couleurs, parfait pour des travaux sur des formats A4 et A3.

These are genuine acrylic

I got this set for flat gouache minimalistic painting and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how opaque and consistent the paint is. However, some colors do come out of their tubes curddled. It's completely normal for gouache, but it might freak you out if you come from watercolor. Make sure you get a paint knife for the blue hue especially. Couple drops of water with some good smearing and it will be good to go. Some colors like cobalt blue might take a while to break completely. If you want to skip this process you might want to go with holbein or liquitex.
