More than once we've pulled a cat out of our shedding dog. The best part is when we pull the deshedding tool out, our dog gets excited and can't wait for us to use it. This is a great tool so if you're on the fence about buying it, go ahead and get it, you won't be disappointed.I purchased this deshedding tool for a German Shepherd that was making a lot of dust-puppies. I purchased a hair brush / deshedding combo brush from a local pet store and I thought it worked well until I purchased this deshedding tool. I read the great reviews for this product and thought I'd take a chance and I'm really happy I did. The comb tines on this deshedding tool are close together and really pull the loose hair out extremely well. The first time I used it I thought our dog was going to go bald from all the hair it removed. Actually, at first our dog wasn't so sure about me using a different tool but I was pleasantly surprised how quickly our dog's apprehensiveness went away. We now have one happy dog that isn't scratching nearly as bad as she was before. Because this tool works so well we now use it outside because of how well it removes loose hair. I have a German Shepherd and she can shed a ton of hair and it's always been a job to comb her. It would take two people. One to hold her head and try to keep her from play biting and me combing her and getting bit.Those days are gone! I'm not quite sure how this comb works because it gets the undercoat and cuts it as well. It's fantastic. It doesn't hurt her and after just a couple of times she has come to love being combed. Now it only takes one person and she rolls over so you can get her other side. The curved shape is nice and the button to push off the hair is very handy.
