Bunion Regulator

I'm unable to use these. I've tried them at night & have been awakened within 2 or 3 hours by a burning sensation. I wondered if the material had something in it that irritated my skin, so twice I tried soaking them in soapy water for several hours & scrubbing them. That didn't help. I tried wearing them a few more times in hopes that the discomfort would ease, but it didn't.Update #1: Several days later, I got the same burning sensation after trying another type of separator made out of a different material, so I don't think the problem is an irritant in the material. I'm wondering if the problem could be that both types are a little too tight for my big toe. I wear a size 10 women's shoe.Update #2 / Final Conclusion: After experimenting with several more bunion products & getting similar results, I now conclude that there's no problem with the product material or sizing. I think this is just a routine case of no single product ever being able to please everyone.I now think that the burning sensation is likely due to very sensitive skin on certain areas of my big toe. I wasn't very aware of the sensitivity until I'd tried various toe separators & later recalled a serious, long-ago crush injury to this toe that affected its shape & could have injured sensory nerves. I hope my earliest review comments didn't deter anyone from trying this product as a result of my wondering whether the material might contain a chemical irritant or contaminant. I think I just have easily irritated skin.

Since I am new to the bunion problem, my decision on ordering this product was based solely on excellent reviews. I was really looking forward to using it, however, got very disappointed...The pair of bunion regulators arrived in a 3"x4" Ziploc plastic bag. No any instructions on how to wear and care for the product, so I had to use a website picture as a guide. It feels soft to touch, however, after wearing it for less than an hour while in bed, I had to take it off because of a pain in my big toe. When I took it off, I found out a deep round mark on my toe. The product dug into my skin, restricting blood circulation in the big toe, and I am a petite person with rather small toes. Could it be possible I got a defective pair? It seems to work for a lot of people...

These are just awesome! I've used spacers before, but they tend to move around and get in the way. The attached bunion padding on this spacer keeps it in place and has the added benefit of protecting that vulnerable bone at the base of the big toe. I have very narrow feet and using these makes all of my shoes (sneakers, hiking boots, clogs, etc) fit better. I am also a dancer and find these work great in my tap, jazz, hip hop, and flat ballet shoes.

This doesn't "regulate" anything.. It's much too soft. If you are at risk of getting bunions, I highly recommend you get a cross-strap style plastic regulator that exerts enough force to counteract the pressure pushing your toes together. They are slightly more expensive ($15/foot) but way more effective. For your health, it's worth ignoring this product and getting something legitimate.

A bit disappointing. These were thin, small and inexpensive looking for the price we paid. If they end up working, I guess we'll be happy. However, these are really items that should be priced in the $2 range. They look like they might have cost 10 cents, and a product from China...

Gets pretty dirty after awhile but these worked really well and my mom asked for a pair also. In just a month or two of wearing my toes are straighter and walking has been less painful. However its very elastic like so it might shift in your shoes but nothing too noticeable.

works as advertised - hurts after wearing it after 5 hours though - but foot feels better during and after taking it off - except after the five hours I've had been wearing it, just because my bunion is pretty large.

It's amazing how many gadgets came with it! I have to try it for some time to see how it does.
