A perfect size for day hike.
This backpack has been field tested ( a 3.5 hours hike ). It has enough room to carry extra things that you will need when the hike goes wrong. I love how the trekking poles fit perfectly on the sides of smaller pouch and they are fully secured by the bungee cord and nylon straps.Pros:- Compact size.- Comfortable. Even though the shoulder straps are not padded, but they are wide enough that didn't cause I any discomfort during the 3.5 hours hike.- Very good quality overall. Mine has one loose stitching by the waist buckle, but it seems to be holding on ok.Cons- The bladder has one major design flaw. The hose is threaded on to the bladder without a locking mechanism. I think it will be ok if you thread it on with a pair of pliers. Otherwise the connector might wiggle loose during a long hike. The material feels substandard...it could that I'm bias since I've been using Camelbak bladders for ages and it has never fail on me. Plus I don't know if it is BPA free or not.- The two clips for hanging the bladder is really hard to open, you have to press it very very hard to get a little opening. Luckily it's not a problem with Camelbak bladders. You can just slide the clips over Camelbak's bladder hanger without open the clips.I've been using mostly name brand backpacks like North Face, Black Diamond and Osprey. Those brands have better materials for weight reducing and styling, at a cost of course. This one is an excellent value for $30, despite the subpar bladder. I believe it is the same backpack as the G4Free one, which has a pretty good reviews. Please note, I didn't test the bladder because I have a few Camelbak bladders. Plus water is your life line when you're out there, you really should go with Camelbak bladder. This backpack fits Camelbak Omega 3L, Unbottled 70 and Cortez 3L.Bottom line, an excellent value for the backpack. You can't go wrong when pair it with a Camelbak bladder.

Does not look like the picture
If this bag looked like the picture it would have worked out perfectly. The bag I received looks washed out and faded compared to the picture. This will never pass in military uniform. To bad. It's a great price and the bag is ok but the camo pattern is garbage.

Excellent bag. The water bladder itself is cheap
Excellent bag. The water bladder itself is cheap, but usable. I put in my own water bladder and the bag itself is great. Used it just a 12 mile event and I barely noticed i was carrying it. The waist strap is a little short, but the chest strap is prefect. There is also plenty of space for whatever else you need to throw in there. I would recommend in all cases - running/jobbing/biking/hiking.

Nice Pack - Bladder Should Be Replaced
I purchased this pack for my daughter to use, and she really likes it. It has enough space for her to put her gloves, hat, first aid kit, some of her little trinkets and a snack and have enough water for most of the day. I like the pockets, zippers, and the stretch ties on the back. As some of the other reviewers indicated, you should take out the included hydration bladder and throw it away. There are many better options, and the bladder that is included with this pack is particularly cheap and tragic and should be replaced. The pack does what I purchased it for and seems quite durable. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with it, and if you purchase it knowing the bladder is quite poor and get a decent one, you won't be disappointed.

Not as described
The bag itself is ok, but that seems to be the only good attribute about it. It smells very chemical-like, and the provider bladder is very flimsy and smells terrible. Luckily, I bought a different bladder as I anticipated this. The color of the bag is all wrong as well. I order the woodland digital camo, and the brown on my bag is more like desert tan. It still looks ok, but I wanted the dark brown coloring of the bad that is shown in the picture. Others have said the same about their bags, so please proceed with caution. The bag also doesn't have a hole for the water tube as others have said. This isn't a huge deal to me, but to some it may be. The bag also doesn't have a separate compartment for the water bladder like most camalbaks have. This means that the bladder takes up space in the bag that would otherwise be roomy.

great product... amazing price
this is such a great priced hydration pack. lots of zipper compartments to hold your stuff. bungee cords on outside to hold clothing or something of the sort. its a bit stiff to start with but I know that it will wear in good. great quality pack. comes with a bladder which is an extra bonus.... the bladder is not the highest of quality but that doesn't matter as I didn't purchase it for the bladder but instead the pack itself.

Highly functional
I thought that this backpack was not going to work well. I purchased this because I have a 3L water bladder and needed a somewhat small, efficient backpack to hold it. (the water bladder that comes with this backpack is alright) But everything else is great. There are multiple pockets that can be used aside from the zipper pockets that they designed. The elastic in the front can be a little too much as well, but it does allow you to carry a towel if needed. Overall, this backpack is great and I love the functionality.

You get what you pay for...
I ordered this item to hold a CamelBak that I already own and thankfully didn't plan on using the bladder it came with and threw it away due to poor construction. As for the backpack, you get what you pay for. It is not constructed all that well and it was delivered with the bungee cord defective (I didn't plan on keeping that part anyways). The shoulder straps are constructed, I am assuming, for a man because they sat on the outside of my shoulders no matter what I did to alter them and they have very little padding in them. My CamelBak bladder fit fine but I did have attach it differently as there are two side clips to secure the bladder instead of one centered clip.
