Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn - Red 5607

Gorgeous well made yarn, exactly as pictured, soft, strong, even texture and weight, and I'm already knitting with it and it's awesome.

This is a workhorse brand widely distributed. This lovely skein of deep red anchored a varicolored fingering yarn in a shawl I made for my daughter. Cascade’s yarns are consistent in thickness and tightly spun so I often use them for socks that wear and wear.

I love the Cascade Heritage yarns. First time I've used a solid color (I've always used the prints in this yarn). I wanted the lace pattern in the sock to pop and it sure does. (I'd never done that type of pattern before). The yarn is wonderful to use. Feels good. Isn't too slippery nor too tacky. I was disappointed to find one knot (join) in the yarn but it turned out to occur in a place where it didn't matter nor irritate the foot. Absolutely great yarn!

I purchased 2 hanks of Night (blue-black) to pair with a variegated yarn I bought that was supposed to be dk but is light lace. Adding this yarn to it & working with 1 strand of each color is making a very beautiful, soft knit hat! This yarn literally saved my project by adding thickness & background consistent color to save the project I had planned. I'm really glad I decided to try using both yarns together, the effect is lovely.

I was so close to finishing my knitting project when I ran out of yarn. I contacted the seller here to see if she had the same dye lot that I had been using. At first she didn’t see any but I needed more yarn anyway so I just ordered it hoping it would be close enough to my dye lot. But days later I got another message from her saying she somehow found the skein in my same dye lot and would send it out that day! I’m so excited, it’s perfect! Excellent customer service and product :)

This yarn has a nice color and knits well. The resultant products feel nice, are warm and comfortable, and wear for a very long time. Just be careful to treat them like you would any other wool garment, wash cold and air dry. If you forget and put one in the dryer, be prepared for a much smaller pair of socks or whatever than you had before.
