Works great if you have a dog that will allow you to do it. LOL
I wish I would of taken before and after photos. My little yorkie mix has terrible tartar build up and because she has a heart disease I cannot risk having her teeth cleaned with anesthesia. I bought little teeth wipes to get her used to me touching her teeth but that didn't help completely as she really doesn't like me getting in there with them. So I decided to try this and all though she struggled at times we managed to get most of the tartar off her front teeth. The back molars will be a whole other beast. Nonetheless, it worked well and cracked the tartar right off or scraped it off gently.

They work if….
As u can see my dog’s teeth are horrible! I feel so guilty that I let them get this bad! He’s 9yo & I’ve never been consistent with brushing his teeth. I purchased this & an electronic cleaning device to try & clean his teeth. As u can see this tool does work. I was able to snap the buildup off of that one tooth & it looks so much better. Problem is, I don’t know what it looks like behind it. The other thing is, my dog is a pretty chill guy & will allow me to do pretty much anything to him. This tho, he hated!! It was a fight just to get it off of that one tooth! 🦷 He also has a few loose teeth. I’ve watched on some YT videos that vets use this tool to pull teeth as well. The teeth that he has loose are extremely loose & prob would come out easily but I don’t feel comfortable doing it. I had a cat that passed away a few months ago due to an abscessed tooth…well he had a seizure & died but his tooth was the original issue. That’s what started me worrying abt my dog’s teeth. I’m going to go ahead & take him in for a professional cleaning & then I’ll never neglect his teeth again! This tool does work tho if u have an animal that has the patience of a saint! If ur reading this & u have a puppy or kitten, pls brush their teeth regularly! Don’t make the mistake I did! My dog is literally my best friend & I want him around as long as possible! I would never want to be the cause of him leaving this world before he’s supposed to!!

Great took, quick results.
Works great, and I wish I knew about these sooner. I would scrape my dogs teeth with a plaque tool which was a more aggressive and took longer. These take off big chunks of plaque quickly and with less discomfort for my dog. My dog is a smaller breed and these work good for his size mouth.

Easy to Use
This little tool easily cracked off calculus build-up on my 16.5 year old Golden Retriever who has very old, hard to clean teeth. The problem is what's left under the calculus upon removing it. If your dog isn't too old for anesthesia you should still take them to the vet for a professional cleaning to be safe vs doing this on your own. At my dog's age age I don't really have that option so this was the temporary answer. He doesn't chew on bones or toys anymore so the tarter build up is rapid and significant even when using Oravet gel. I disinfected before and after the removal of the calculus when using this tool which is very important. This tool does exactly what it says and arrived quickly. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it didn't come with any directions. It can be tricky until you get the hang of it and could possibly do more damage than the calculus itself.

Doesn’t work effectively
Not an easy tool to use and doesn’t remove plaque as expected on our dog

It worked.
oh my it worked. I thought his tooth was rotten. In reality it was plaque. He's so anxious that we had to ease him into this process. I mean years to be able to do his teeth. Gave him CBD oil and went from finger massage brushing, to toothbrush, to the forceps remover. This was the first go of the remover and I had to stop midprocess to take a picture of the huge plaque it removed in the top picture. He was not in any pain but you do have to play around with different angles that work best. Thank you, it just saved my family $600+ for not having to go take our dogs to the vet for cleaning. It's sturdy, painless, effective and reasonably priced.
