Better than the original bagel bed!
Our dog really liked the original Majestic Pet bagel bed, but cleaning the bed was such a challenge, requiring trips to the laundromat to use the largest washer they had and then taking FOREVER to dry. Because it was such a hassle to clean, we didn't do it that often and the bed eventually just got too funky so we decided to throw it out. When I found this version with a removable cover, I decided it was worth a try. I'm so much happier with this than the original! The removable cover is easy to clean in our home machine, which means we wash it more regularly, so the entire bed never gets as much of a deep stink as when it was one piece. To wash, I vacuum the bed entirely to remove as much dog hair on the fabric and trapped in the corners as possible. I then remove the two inner stuffing compartments and spray them with Febreeze and let them air out while washing the cover. In the warmer months I will sit them out in the sun to get some UV light for extra de-odorizing and disinfecting power. The cover gets washed with regular detergent on cold-cold and then dried on low heat. After washing, the cover is pet hair and stain free and when put back together, the bed doesn't have a lingering stale dog odor. I haven't had any issue with the zippers on the cover or refitting the filling back in once the cover is washed. The fill material can get a bit bunched up some times, but its easy enough to refluff/redistribute by hand.We have a 7 year old 65 lb boxer mix and he loves this bed. He often lies in it curled up, will rest his head on the bolster when he wants, and can easily spread out across it and droop over the sides. We got the 40" suede bed in the color stone and it seems to be an appropriate size for him. The neutral color doesn't distract from our decor.Overall I'd recommend this pet bed. If you are debating between this version and the original (which is a bit less expensive) I'd opt for this one unless you have a small dog and are getting a tiny bed that you can easily stuff in your home washing machine.Update December 2022: We've had this bagel bed for three years (purchased November 2019) and it's finally due to be replaced. The cover is still in great shape (albeit with embedded dog hairs), but the fill has finally developed a funk we can't get rid of. I do wish Majestic Pet sold a similar bed with an orthopedic base for just the bottom of the bed. The fill used seems appropriate for the sides but on the bottom it tends to clump up over time and can leave really thin spots. Every now and then our dog will spin and spin and spin and whine because he can't get comfortable. Our pup is getting older now and as much as we've liked this bed for him, I'm debating getting something with better support for his aging joints. He loves the snuggly nest this bed provides, but I just don't think it's as supportive as needed for older, larger breed dogs.I've emailed Majestic Pet recommending the following improvements that I think would make this bed one of the best on the market:> Have an orthopedic option for the base insert for larger beds. This could be purchased separately and/or as a full bed option.> Some non-stick/grippy bottom on the bed would be nice. Ours slides right across our hardwood floor.> Having separate covers for the two polyfill inserts that would allow them to be washed would be amazing. If you could wash the three parts of the larger bed deconstructed or separately you could actually wash them at home, and it would allow the entire thing to be laundered. If I could wash the polyfill tube, the cover, and then buy an orthopedic foam base, I suspect I'd be using this bed for the rest of Winston's lifetime.I realize replacing a dog bed every few years is super reasonable, I just hate the idea of chucking this bed in a landfill when a few design choices would be more sustainable and allow us to keep using this bed for our pup for longer.

Not good for chewers
I have two of these beds - the large one for my 75 pound shepherd mix and the small one for my 20 pound terrier mix. Both of them love the bed, they seem to like the softness and the bolsters. I will say that the small bed seems to have much better “filling” on the bottom portion of the bed while the large bed seems a tad thin on the bottom portion of the bed (where the dog lies). Nonetheless, they seem pleased with the beds, HOWEVER... the problem is that I don’t think the beds are particularly well suited if you have a dog who likes to chew or mess with their bed. My big dog has left hers alone and it’s fine but my terrier has destroyed hers - pulled out the stuffing and ripped the seams fairly easily. So… just be advised.

Soft and tough
This bed is awesome. We bought our malamute one and it is tough. She loves it. We bought the same one in a smaller size for my lab who loves to chew. I knew from experience this was the only brand I knew she would not chew up.

Perfect bed!
Just what I was looking for! Perfect, snuggly bed to go inside my pup's crate. He's a nester and loves to ball up his blankets so this bed is perfect for him!

Lavishly Comfortable with Extra Support, my 85-90 Lb. Old English sheepdog Now Prefers Sleeping in His Own Bed Instead of Mine
The media could not be loaded. Well, our dog had his 7th birthday in December and in our household, our dog’s birthday is a very big deal, and I decided that one of his many gifts for his birthday would be a brand new bed.He destroyed his first round padded bed when he was a puppy, chewed on it, dug at it, and it went through several washings due to puppy accidents. His second bed was larger, a padded rectangle, but after several years it flattened down in the middle and he was now digging at the sides trying to give the flattened middle a little extra height. Now that he is older and does not destroy his things, I wanted him to have a good, strong and durable bed, and one that would offer extra support for his back and limbs since he is getting older. One of the things that a good supportive bed can prevent is arthritis. Of course, this goes hand in hand with watching a dog’s weight and providing a sufficient amount of daily exercise both indoors and out. However, if a dog sleeps in an awkward position this will cause more problems for their spine and joints and if they are prone to this condition, it will only get worse.I spent a considerable amount of time researching types, shapes, and brands of different dog beds on the internet, visited several pet stores, and even went to Costco to see what they had in stock. I have spent more time researching dog beds for larger dogs than I did for myself when I bought a new bed and mattress for myself a few years ago.I read all the reviews of all of the various large dog beds. The good reviews made me feel confident about making a choice, but then the bad reviews destroyed my self-assurance and it took me a long time to decide.I finally decided on the 52” Bagel Dog Bed for a few different reasons. I liked the oval shape; a round bed encourages a dog to curl up, whereas the oval gives him more room to sprawl out comfortably. The middle is heavily padded, it is spongy and very thick, and I cannot feel the hardness of the floor underneath. I like that the bolster goes completely 360 degrees around, it is an added protective feature against drafts in our winter cold weather. The surface is microsuede, which has a soft ‘velour–like feeling’ and a food and dirt spots come clean easily, when dabbed gently with a slightly damp sponge, and that removes most of the stain. There are two separate zippers, one is inside and around the bolster, it unzips more than ¾ around the bed, and it stops at the short side near the tip of the oval. The other zipper is for the bottom inside padding, this unzips along the longer side of oval, which is almost halfway across the bed. To remove the middle polyester fiberfill padding, (encased in a gauze type of casing) the entire part needs pulling out. Although I have not put this in my washing machine, I would probably throw in some clean tennis shoes to keep the pad filling from clumping. The lowest layer is a waterproof material, both on the inside and out, however underneath the bolster is the same ‘velour-type’ material, which is not waterproof at all. This Bagel Bed has no odor at all, and when we presented his new bed, our Old English sheepdog took a few approving sniffs, carefully climbed onto it, made a few circles and immediately laid down. He loves it! We still kept other bed, so he can have a choice, but there is no doubt that he prefers his new Bagel Bed to his other. There is ample room for him to sprawl out comfortably in different positions whether it is on his back, side or front, and the middle padding is spongy, yet firm and thick with a soft pillowing effect. Our dog has now had this bed for just about a month and I noticed that he is very comfortable in all positions. Sometimes he sleeps completely within the oval interior, and occasionally he sleeps with his head resting on the bolster, (similar to a pillow), for a little extra head support. Additionally, I initially tried out his bed and I did not feel the hard floor, so I know he appreciates sleeping on his soft cushioned bed, evident since he spends less time sleeping on my bed.If you are looking for a dog bed, this is an excellent option, as for our 85 – 90 lb. Old English sheepdog; this is the perfect comfortable and supportive bed and the 52” Bagel Bed adequately accommodates his larger size.

HAPPY DOG
The first time my dog experienced this bed was at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, where they gave herthis bed to use while at the hotel. My dog loved it so much we went home and ordered our first one. Now we have 3, two at home and at one at the law office where my husband works. The first time at the office she barely left her bed. She is a 7 year old, very active LAB and this bed kept her calm and happy.Thank you Magestic Pet

Very nice, but hard to wash!
I would opt for a bed with a removable washable cover. I have a large capacity, no drum washer, but the bed is still too big for it. Other than that it is a very nice, high quality bed.

MUY SUCIA.
Le encantó a mi perrita. la cama es de buen tamaño y está bien acolchonada, pero se le pegan muchísimo los pelos al primer contacto.

La mejor cama perruna!
The media could not be loaded.

Eccentric design. Animals like it.
I got this big enough at 32" so that my three small animals could stretch out. Except they prefer to snuggle together in a heap. They took to the bed immediately. As per photo the central bolster is high and slippery so that they sleep on the side. If they are happy, I am happy.

Love the look and feel but had to return
I was very happy with the quality and the look of the bed. I ordered the stone colour. It seemed comfortable but I could not get my dog to lie in it. He tried once but I guess since it’s not solid he stepped into it and one side lifted way higher than the other, which you can see in the photo. I wish he liked it as much as I did but the comments about the bed toppling are true. Maybe I would have had better luck with a bigger size. Very good quality though! Super soft and nice looking.

Great Bed, Could Have More Filling
This bed is incredibly well-made and the 32" model is the perfect size for our 35lb beagle to either curl up in a little ball or stretch out comfortably if he wants to. Rust colour is great with our decor - a bit lighter than it looks in the photo. The bolsters have held up great after 2.5years and about a dozen washes but the filling in the base has compressed quite a bit and there's little cushion in some places. We will likely re-stuff it ourselves. Cover is still in perfect condition! Buying a second version of this bed for work.
