The book is very detailed and gives an in-depth analysis of Cook’s three voyages to the Pacific Ocean. It’s not a travel book, it’s a history book, and a very good one. Although when travelling through the South Pacific specifically, it would certainly provide ‘context’ and ‘awareness’ of your location. I enjoyed it.
