What a RIP!
Shorts seemed comfortable when trying them on. I ordered 2 sizes larger than normal as recommended by other reviewers. However, after trying them on and inspecting them, I noticed that mine were ripped at the black leg inserts near the outside of my knee on both sides. I never even left the living room after putting these things on! It seems as though the black inserts are made of very cheap quality fabric that basically turns to threads when stretched or ripped. No rip stop material here! Save your money and buy a proven product. That's what I've learned from this. These were delivered today, and will be returned tomorrow.UPDATE - June 10, 2016Santic was really generous and reached out to me regarding the torn shorts that I received. They wanted to make things right, and try to restore my faith in their product. They sent me a replacement pair of shorts, and I've been on 4 rides now without any issues. The shorts fit comfortably and the padding is sufficient for riding the trails and on the pavement. I haven't had any indications of tearing or fraying on this pair, so I'm hopeful that they'll hold up! I wanted to point out the customer service was very polite and generous to send me another pair of shorts, after I had already been issued a refund. I've updated my rating from 1 star to 4. It's good to know that the company stands behind their product.

Fit so good I bought another pair!
Bought one pair and rode on my local singletrack trails for about 11 miles. They performed so well I went home and bought another pair so I would have two of them for an upcoming trip. Rode in Bentonville Arkansas last week for 4 days and wore the two pair of shorts during all of my riding(laundered them daily). The shorts are breathable and fairly lightweight, have a draw string to pull them tight, two hip pockets on each side(big enough for a phone or snacks), and some padding that fit in all the right places. I'm a 33-34" waist and the XL fit perfectly. I was worried that the padding was too small in the front of the shorts but once I was in the saddle it performed perfectly. I rode about 40 miles-30 of that being singletrack last Saturday on them and never had a problem with chafing/fit. I have an older Sugoi pair with a separate liner and they are not nearly as comfortable as these shorts!

Comfortable, breathable, quick-drying, durable
I'm an ultra-endurance racer and ride my mountain bikes a LOT. These shorts have been great the past few months. Not the most comfortable chamois compared to some of my premium bib-shorts, but still exceptional and enough to keep me comfortable for up to a 4 or 5 hour ride. Material is comfortable and breathable, dries out quickly, and doesn't chafe for what short periods of time it is wet. Riding in the humid woods of the American southeast, this matters a lot; my normal cycling shorts lead to a lot of wet and damaged skin with how wet they'll get form sweat, but with these, I'm dry and comfortable all day.Pockets are a little awkwardly diagonal, but still fit a phone and a multitool just fine, so that's only barely a complaint. No zipper, so takes a bit more fenangling when nature calls, but again, how could you be mad about that for shorts this inexpensive? It doesn't get much better spending 3x this much. Did some big rides in DuPont and Boone-area Pisgah with these and they were comfy the whole time. 100% recommended.

More than you pay for
Got these to use in a cycling-centric work environment, as roadie shorts are akin to sexual harassment in that regard. Been wearing them for a few weeks and I am very impressed. The fabrics are light and breathable, and don't chafe at all. The mian panels are ripstop nylon, the black stuff is soft and stretchy to move with your legs, and everything is held together with sturdy, double-stitched seams. The zippers are even well polished items. And on the subject of pockets, the they tend not to flop around when pedaling which is nice.So overall this is way better than I expected for $30. The cons though:-pocket space is somewhat limited, enough for a phone and say 2 cliff bars each.-the saddle pad is fairly thin. It's firm though, and feels more like a very thick fabric than a foam pad. I'd prefer something more substantial.-the plastic clip on the drawstring is useless, just chuck it and tie a bow(BTW I'm a 36" waist, got US XL and the fit was perfect)

Better than I thought.
At first I read some negative reviews about tears etc, I’m sure it’s all happened however my experience was much better! Perfect fit! I’m 5,7” and 155lbs and the medium fit perfectly! Not too baggy at all, the implanted butt and groin cushion are an added bonus. No more pain when sitting on my bike seat for hours! I’m going to check to see if I can buy this in other colors.True story - as I was wearing these for the first time driving to my bike trail (just left my house) and saw a cyclist wearing the exact same pair! But in a baby blue color! These must be shot seller because they work. Now I want that color but I can’t find them!

Excellent Customer Service after ordering the wrong size and reordering.
After reading reviews on these shorts (and Santic cycling shorts SANTIC Cycling Men's Shorts Biking Bicycle Bike Pants Half Pants 4D COOLMAX Padded Blue XL ) many suggested going at least 1 size larger than what you wear, and possible two sizes larger. I'm a 35 inch waste, 71 inches tall and 210 lbs, and I ordered the XXL. Unfortunately they are too large. I contacted the company to see if I could return them for a smaller size. They worked with me and have EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, and are sending me the XL size I need for a large discount. The XXL shorts wouldn't be too big of a deal if it weren't for the fact they have a chamois insert with a mesh liner. The smaller size will definitely help hold the padding in place better. Also, the shorts are good quality. They aren't normal shorts with normal pockets, but pockets placed strategically for biking/mountain biking.

Order two sizes up from your regular pants size
I am about 5'10"/170 lbs and always wear Medium size tops and bottoms, with no issues of fit. Because these were sized a bit smaller according to the reviews I ordered a Large. Still too small. It fits but it's tight in the butt and legs. People who cycle for the most part are generally a bit thicker through the thighs even if it's only recreational cycling. The quality of the shorts are okay but you will need to go up two sizes if you want something that isn't uncomfortable tight. I have the usual bike shorts if I want tight. Those shorts may fit snug but they have lots of give.

Too small for USA
Great shorts but the SIZING is 100% not correct.I ordered the XXL and they fit like a medium/large.

Good value, needs to be worked in.
When I initially tried these shorts I was disappointed, the padding was causing more discomfort than comfort. Now after working them in they are perfect! I'm really happy with how they fit now. Yes the padding has shrunken ( for the better ) but it formed to my sit bone perfectly. The pockets are well designed and the perfect size. It fits my phone well ( Moto x play ) and keeps it on the side of your leg during riding so it doesn't bother you that much. This is on the "black" model. Other models have different pockets. The outer material dries fast and is water resistant. I ordered one size larger than I need.

only rode on the once so far but they were great.
only rode on the once so far but they were great. good balance of looseness and comfort and it never got tangle up in my seat when going behind for steep descents. found it moved down a little and long uphill grind but nothing too bad. The pad was a bit uncomfortable walking but that's normal for this type of short. I'm 5'10", 170 lb and took a large.

Okay for casual cycling.
The short looks ok but it fits funny. I followed the fitting chart but the short has two issues. First, there is no leg gripper to stop the short liner from riding up the leg. That being said it stays in place okay. Also the inner padded liner is very loose fitting. I am used to the inner liner fitting like a cycling short. When walking around the passed liner hangs below the rider. When on the bike the padding stays in place but on a longer ride this could cause chaffing. For a casual cyclist it is fine.
