BEST 1 INCH BAG WE HAVE FOUND
We train wild horses for equine therapy and have learned they are genetically programmed to hold onto weight and will eat EVERYTHING they have as quickly as possible.....compared to domestically bred and raised horses the differences are striking. We needed to slow their eating so we started with 2 inch bags...then 1.25 inch bags and finally 1 inch bags....which finally got the desired effect....but it was amazing how much longer it took them with the 1 inch vice 1.25 inch....Many Vendors will say it's a 1 inch bag then when it arrives its 1.25 inch.....Huge Difference even though the difference is only 0.25 inch.....make sure and check...or just buy THIS BAG...

Didn't stand the test of time.
The bag is a nice size and easy to load. It frustrated our arab too much to use for him, but worked great to slow down our chubby rocky mountain horse. I was liking it a lot until I found a big hole in the bag less than a month into using it. I repaired it only to find another huge hole in a different spot a week later. It was expensive for only a months use considering I bought a Shires small hole hay net over six months ago, and it still hasn't gotten a hole.

Great size and love the 1" holes!
I've only had this a couple of days so I cannot speak to durability, but so far so good. The bag very easily holds 1/2 bale at a time. The holes are as described 1" which was what I was looking for. The string that you tie it up with is thicker than some other brands which is good. Previously, I had two 2" bags doubled up to slow them down. I have a horse and a mini and 3 flakes in the bag lasted 4 hours, but can load it up further for longer feeding times. Some have commented that this is "mean", but I have zero waste with happy/healthy horses that are able to eat from this bag no problem.

Nice wide net with 1" holes. Holds about 30 lbs.
Great slow-feed net. It's wide enough to easily pull over a standard 40-45 lb. bale. Holds probably 30 lbs. I like to split a bale between 2 bags so my 3 horses can share more easily, and this bag is the perfect size at a great price. I need the very small 1" holes for my Hoovers. I tried the smaller Shire's Greedy Feeder bags, and they aren't as wide (which makes them hard to fill). And the cord is not that durable - I have some tears after only a couple of months on the Shires bags. The cord is heavier on these. Would probably work well with a hoop since they are wide.

TOO Small
I thought the (expensive) Ultra small holes in the slow feed bag was the answer to my mare's weight problem. She is an easy keeper and an eating machine and I thought this would slow her intake, but the holes are too small and she doesn't even try. Unfortunately I bought 2 of these bags! I hope I can return them for the next size up.

Too bad hit or miss- sometimes the bags are not defective and sometimes they are
I buy these bags often but lately the middle of the bags have big holes ( larger than the 1" hole) - the holes are big and gaping - the Kelly Green were good for awhile now they are terrible- returned them 2 times. I will try another color

Love all the color choices!
Make sure you want your horse to eat very, very slowly, because 1" holes don't allow much to come out at a time. My older gelding got bored and left it, while the younger one seemed to enjoy the challenge. Test it out before leaving it as their only food source. Excellent quality and fast delivery!

This is a TOUGH feeder!
My hungry mare HATES it! She has destroyed at least 3 other slow feeders, but this one seems to be holding up fine and it does slow her down and keeps the hay off the floor. I wish it was easier to load, I find myself covered in hay by the time I get done stuffing it! I will continue to use it until I find something better!
