I got these as a back up set to my other set, I intend on using this set to help with assist feeding, these are much smaller & thinner than my other set, I think these would be great for sexing smaller snakes such as colubrids

These worked will for me. I'd have given it 5 stars if they were stainless steel. Here are some pro tips for you:• Follow the snake-length directions, and err on the size of too small. If your snake squirms like it hurts, it probably does because it's too big. If it won't slide in easily, it's probably too big.• Take your time and do your best to get the snake relaxes. Their "clinching" complicates the procedure considerably.• The holes are off to the sides and easy to miss, and each snake is different. Lube up good and "probe" around until you find it. That's why they call them probes. :-)• Use the most gentle pressure of which you're capable. The "stop" is like running into a cotton ball. Pushing past the cotton ball will result in rupturing your male snake's hemipene or your female's scent gland!Best of luck!

I liked using these a lot better than popping, and they solved the mystery of my rescue snake; she is female! Just like I was hoping.Very simple, easy to use, and well worth the price. Just please don't use these unless you know what you're doing, as it's very easy to injure the snake no matter what method you're using to check genders.

Happy with the quick shipping, price and the fact that there are no barbs on the end of these - they are very smooth. My only complaint is that the instructions should be updated ASAP to say that children should NOT EVER be using these. Adult supervision or not, these are a dangerous tool to be used by any non-adult person.

Inspected the tiny tips under the microscope; very smooth. Confirmed size. The smallest probes are bendable, so handle with care.

Works like a charm, I’m not sure how to pop a ball pythons Hemipenes so I tried proving and found out I have a male and two females.
