Surprisingly good! I was expecting bland and watery but each variety was pretty good, and some were very good! Penne pasta- 10/10! Very good! My favorite in the set. Chili- 9/10 great texture and flavor. A bit spicy but I added Greek yogurt and it was perfect Chicken Alfredo- 8/10 good but I have very high standards for Alfredo lol. I added some mozzarella and it was good. Stroganoff- 7/10 but I’m just not crazy about stroganoff Beef stew- 8/10 for summer but probably a 10/10 in winter. It was 110 degrees here when I tried it lol Barbecue chicken- 8/10. I wasn’t crazy about beans with this but the chicken was very good

These dinners are easy to prepare in about 1-1 1/2 minutes in the microwave. They are good portion control and I found the Turkey Bean Chili to be the best meal in the set! That I'm going to order again by itself because it tastes much better than a canned chili. These are easy to keep on hand in your pantry or cupboards and make meals available and on hand all the time without any need to take up refrigerator or freezer space! Most of these meals are better if you have a veggie side dish! But with the Turkey Bean Chili all I need is some tortilla chips and some sour cream! Yum! ~The Rebecca Review

The food itself was fine and the fact that they are not frozen meals can be a plus as you can microwave them in 60 seconds. The portions for the price. (average is $ 5.50 per item) is a little pricey. Meals average around 200-230 calories.

As of the date of this review (10/11/19), HMR offers 17 different dinners. (See their website). I've tried 16 of them, and liked all except: Mushroom Risotto and Pasta Fagioli were too spicy. Didn't care for the taste of: Whole Grain Medley with Chicken. Didn't try the Lentil Stew yet. Yes, the meals are small. They come in a microwavable tray that is 3.75" x 5.25". To be stored at room temp. These are NOT frozen. All are under 300 calories, with the highest calorie count being Chicken with Barbecue Sauce at 280 calories, but it has 19 gms of protein. The meals alone are less than satisfying, though. It is important to buy their protein shakes and have 2-3 shakes each day. They taste good, and keep you satiated (feeling full - satisfied.) Also, I recommend supplementing your meal with either a salad or cooked vegetable. I think the price for these meals is reasonable, and to me, they taste better than the frozen diet meals from the supermarket.

Bought these because they are shelf stable so I could keep a couple in my desk at work in case I got hungry at work at odd times. Usually buy the Hormel Compleats but tried these because they had a couple flavors that sounded interesting. Big mistake. These taste horrible. While the chili was tolerable the rest I have tried are hideous. The sauces are awful and the Lasagna os about the worst thing I have ever tasted. Many companies make low cal food that tastes pretty good but these are a BIG fail. Since I ate a few can't send them back so they will just sit on the shelf until they expire or the zombie apocalypse happens. Or maybe give them away to a food bank.
