Fantastic book on cryptids
I️ greatly enjoyed this book. David Weatherly collects loads of great tales and accounts documenting the strange creatures of Nevada. I️ was surprised at how many more stories there were that were new to me, I️ thought myself well versed on the subject.? I can only hope that Mr. Weatherly will continue doing more books state by state!

A fascinating look at the monster legends of Nevada
As I'm a writer myself, I'm very fussy over which books I read, and particularly so in the paranormal genre, but David is one of the best, in any genre. There's a wealth of well researched information in this book, and I will be buying other titles by David soon. I was struck by the similarities with legends from my own part of the world, namely Cornwall, particularly so with the 'Water Babies' as we have legends of Merry Maids (mermaids) yes, not exactly the same, but there are interesting correlations throughout the book, particularly with regard to the shared sonic aspects, that any Merry Maid researcher will recognise. The author of 'The Water Babies' (fiction) Charles Kingsley, was a Cornishman too. Anyway, I've rattled on for long enough, if you love reading about these old legends, and feel, no, make that KNOW, as I do, that they are based on real events, then buy this book, indeed, any of David's books, as he one of the best out there who is writing on these topics, he has been studying this stuff for decades AND he writes well too. Buy it!M.A.W.

Well researched accounts of strange Nevada creatures
David Weatherly has written a fascinating book revealing all the strange beings that "might" dwell in the state of Nevada. Leaning heavily as you'd expect on Native American lore, Weatherly has struck out on his own to investigate the strange tales and legends surrounding the current casino's and strip clubs that form most peoples idea of the Silver State. Unlike many authors on strange phenomenon, Weatherly has done the footwork and visited many of the sites mentioned in the stories he writes about. He has also interviewed Native Americans regarding their peoples legends. In this book you'll not only meet the more familiar Bigfoot and Tessie, lake Tahoe's own version of the better publicized Loch Ness Monster, but Water Babies and man eating water dwelling avians as well. A well written - well researched book anyone interested in cryptozoology or strange phenomenon will enjoy.

There's more to Nevada than you may think...
When you hear the word 'Nevada', you undoubtedly think of casinos, legal prostitution, nuclear testing and hot scorching desert. But there is much more than meets the eye...and David Weatherly has brought a new perspective to the 'Silver State' and its monsters. I was fascinated by the water creatures and the lore associated with them. As well, hairy hominids sightings and encounters are documented throughout the state...which includes intriguing history and modern descriptions. The book is well written and quite enjoyable. It's a 'must' for every cryptid library. - Lon Strickler, Phantoms & Monsters
