Good little gadget
This thing works well. I made one of these a few years back out of polymer clay and an old screwdriver bit. It served me well for about six years until it finally broke. While looking for the materials to make another one, I came across this product on Amazon. For the price of buying the materials i needed to make another one, I just went ahead and bought this one to try out. I have used it about 10 times already. It seems to be well made and it looks like it will last for a good long time. I am all about DIY when it is a cost effective route, but this was ultimately cheaper and with Prime it was delivered in two days.

Solid, snug, and wonderful.
I love this -- a lot. It fits snugly on the tuners of most basses I own. Much better than the https://www.amazon.com/Power-String-Winder-Deluxe-Colors/dp/B00502E4UK peg winder I've been using for years. The Ducks Deluxe Power winder is fully hard plastic, while the Planet Waves Drill Bit Peg Winder is made of metal and much denser plastic. I just wish it fit inside my Acoustic, Electric, Bass Guitar Peg String Winder Bridge Pin Puller / Hexagonal Drill Bit that I also purchased here from Amazon would accept the shaft of this Planet Waves Drill Bit Peg Winder. But the Planet Waves shaft is too big for it. So, I will have to use a drill to wind and rewind quckly.

They last. They work. They're cheap.
This is far sturdier than ALL those ultra cheapos with plastic shafts. The staggered opening allows use on almost all tuners including bass. The only reason I had to replace my old one is because I used to to drive several large threaded hooks into the wall. Under normal use, these do not break. The METAL shaft fits all drill-drivers and drill chucks. It is the best of the four different models I've used. I should point out that I restring about ten guitar a week and had my previous one for four years before I abused it. They last. They work. They're cheap.

Great winder
Best Winder I've ever had. Fits all my guitars' tuners,(different sizes on different guitars). Looks like it would even fit on those big stepped keys. One word of caution; not meant to go in a drill. Get the cheapest, smallest and slowest-running battery screw driver you can find. Those tuning gears are not meant to run at 200 RPM, let alone at 800. That being said, it works much faster than a hand cranker, and it doesn't slip off.

Great time saver for changing strings on multiple guitars.
This tool has actually made changing strings on my guitars fun. I use this on a little Black and Decker wireless screw driver that doesn't spin too fast. It works great on my Jackson and Fender electrics as well as Takamine and Taylor acoustics. String changes are no longer a daunting task and can now be accomplished in just a few minutes. I've found using this to be much less frustrating than a manual string winder.

Thrilled about a Bit
I bought this bit, along with a small Black and Deck screwdriver, Black & Decker AS6NG Alkaline Cordless Screwdriver, for a total of about $17. Man, what a great bargain! I've always dreaded changing strings with the old fashion plastic winder. Recently, I was watching a Taylor Guitar video on how to change strings, and the guy in the video was demonstrating how to keep the tension and guide the string while he wound it. However, he used an electric winder, which made the whole process seem much easier. I don't think I could even do what he did with my plastic winder. I thought for sure it was some sort of expensive tool he had, but I ran across this bit on Amazon, and since I didn't have an electric screwdriver, I thought I'd try the little, cheap Black and Decker. They both worked way beyond my expectations. I finished my electric just a while ago, and am going to do my acoustic tomorrow. Then I'll have to find another guitar to change strings on. ;-) I'm just too excited about this bit!

Guitar String Changes are SO much Easier
Had a rarely used electric screw driver gifted to me some time ago. Just came across it and it struck me to use it changing guitar strings. Only thing needed was a bit that could gently cradle the tuning knobs on the guitars. BINGO! Planet Waves Drill Bit Peg Winder was exactly what I was needing and my next guitar string change was much easier, tighter and better end result with good / even tension on the winding peg. A big advancement for my guitar maintenance.

This might be a must have.. for it was.
I am going to also mention another product purchased along with this as I feel it's appropriate in this case. This peg winder is just perfect I was concerned that it might ride down on the peg far enough to mark the guitar if I wasn't careful.. They designed it properly so no issues at all.. Ok, typical electric drills have to much speed and or to much power plus their a bit awkward to handle.. Along with this I also picked up a Black and Decker AS6NG Alkaline cordless also on Amazon.. These two are the perfect matched pair...no kidden.. Ergonomically these items together are about as good as I could ask for , not to heavy and easy to use. The battery powered Black and Decker was offered when I bought it at a little les then 10.00 ...So I have less then 20 bucks tied up in this time saver.. Two words "Way Kool"
