Professional quality 24 fret short scale for maestras on the smaller side; def worth the price
This guitar is perfect for my small size (90 lbs female, size 5 shoe and ring) has a beautiful solid body wood with a resonance so beautiful I can make harmonics on almost every fret. Smooth, rounded frets, easy to intonate. 24 frets for a short scale that all maintain pitch accuracy, two double humbucker pickups allow for sweet sound; machine heads are a bit crappy and fender style bridge allows for relative detuning, but overall, thankful that a "my size" high quality guitar exists and is comparable to the Carvin, Godin, Fernandez. Perfect if you like fingerpicking on a thick neck and hammering for better resonance. Natural wood body means the wood quality is there, rather than hidden under imperfections filled with bondo and/or glued under paint. Every smaller sized human should buy this guitar. Definitely recommend . One flaw: the guitar came with wiring imperfections I had to correct by opening up the back and using an ice pick to free some incorrectly placed wiring; one wire was tangled in another, both exposed. There was no sound until this was corrected.

Been shredding daily
I have nicer guitars, but loved the natural wood body and the shape of this Jackson. If you want to shred, this guitar rocks! But if you want to play a variety of music on a budget, get a Squier Stratocaster first, then a Squier Telecaster, and then this Jackson. I've enjoyed playing a new style of music along with my usual blues and rock, but I would never pick this over a strat or tele. That said, this guitar is GORGEOUS and a high-quality build for the price. Highly recommend it - I get compliments all the time on the natural wood. My only complaint is that the body was three pieces of wood glued together, so there is a small noticeable difference in the different pieces, but that's nitpicking for a guitar in this price range with quality sound.

Great value
There's nothing to dislike about this guitar. I got the natural wood model. It sounds like my Ibanez which was 3 times as much. The neck is pure butter and feels great. Not to thick and not too thin body that fits perfectly. The pickups sound like damarzio jazz basses. If your on a budget but want a decent guitar buy this model. Forget other budget guitars they don't stack up.

Not just for metal...
My pandemic project has been learning two-handed tapping, Stanley Jordan style jazz guitar. I had been using a cheap strat clone, but wanted 24 frets and a flatter neck. Somehow I came across this on Amazon and figured I'd send it back if I didn't like it. Suffice it to say, I am very impressed. The neck and frets were perfect out of the box. All I did was adjust the string height to my taste and it plays great. For me, the neck alone is worth $200. I am going to change the pickups and wiring, but only because I enjoy messing around with inexpensive guitars, but for most folks, even non-metal players, the stock pups should be fine. So either as a mod platform, or as is, this is a great deal, even if you aren't a shredder. I may even buy a second, dye it some funky color and stick some fishman fluence pups in just for fun.

I would give a 5 stars! On how it plays and feels. Also, understands entry level guitar…I would actually buyer the next level up. It plays great but the hardware is dinky…

Frets extremely sharpe edges need sanding , in my opinion that’s on the Company to send out a Quality product that consumer doesn’t instantly become a craftsman / repair center .......HELLO ! ?

project guitar
tuning stability is poor out of the box absolutely requires locking tuners replacement nut original is soft plastic removal of 1 middle vibrato spring from 3 to 2 feels like the guitar will break when div bomb claw screw imbalance causes intonation issues individual bridge pieces need radius and intonation 2 point bridge posts need adjustment ground issues in electronics hum competes with signal pickup height adjustment back 2 screws on 4 bolt plate long enough to influence fret directly above no oil on nato wood very pale rough sanded needs finish truss rod totally loose caused double relief along the length don't buy this as a beginner you will stay one but if you are competent working on guitars its got good bones

The playability is outstanding for the price. The bolt-on maple speed neck with a 12"–16" compound-radius fingerboard offers remarkable comfort and ease of movement up and down the frets, making it enjoyable whether you’re playing rhythm parts or shredding leads. The 24 jumbo frets and smooth neck profile support fast playing and precise control that rivals instruments costing significantly more.
