Clitoria ternatea, commonly known as Asian pigeonwings, bluebellvine, blue pea, butterfly pea, cordofan pea and Darwin pea, is a plant species belonging to the Fabaceae family native to South East Asia. It is a perennial herbaceous plant, with elliptic, obtuse leaves. It grows as a vine or creeper, doing well in moist, neutral soil. The most striking feature about this plant is the color of its flowers, a vivid deep blue. The most popular use for this flower is as a natural food and beverage colouring. It was originally used to colour tea and rice but is now popularly used to colour cocktails containing spirits such as gin and vodka. Our flowers are farmed locally and sustainably by a small farm in Thailand. They are of the highest quality and consider to be above grade A. Chemicals and synthetic fertilizers are not used to grow these flowers!

Glad to find it
I had previously bought Mermaid Tea, but it seems that it's no longer available. I looked at various places on-line, and checked for the ingredients. I found the Butterfly Tea had the same ingredients as the Mermaid Tea. It was part of a birthday present for a granddaughter. She is delighted with it, and has at least one cup per day (no more, because she wants to make it last!)

Blue tea - who knew?
Amazing natural product with the most awesome blue colour - worth buying just for the conversations you can have with visiting friends and family. The other thing are the health benefits but you need to look those up for yourself as sadly tech giants like Google, Facebook and Amazon do not like such claims being made!

the package is small it fits in my palm but only a 2-3 flowers are needed so it won't get used that fast. The taste isn't that nice but when you put lemon it tastes v nice.

Fantastically lightweight for its size
This product was purchased specifically to create a new cocktail....the colour flavour and texture mixed with rum & vodka was excellent
