I only have 5 3/4 inch height in my small microwave** A: It is 7 inches high but I think they make a smaller one **Q: where is it made** A: The glass was made in China, but the paint was applied in the USA (if you're worried about toxic paint). **Q: what is the size?** A: We dump it immediately after popping into a round-bottom mixing bowl so it does not steam inside the glass container. The mixing bowl is about 11 inches in diameter at the top and it mostly fills it. I think it would be enough for two -- if my wife would only share. **Q: What is the warranty on this product?** A: Honestly, I have no idea if there is a warranty. I haven't had any problems with mine. It's just a glass jar and I think the top piece may be a baking silicone. Since I am trying to eat healthier these days and didn’t like the chemicals I saw listed in the bagged popcorn I had been eating. This looked like the right popper, at the right price, for a healthier alternative to popping the popcorn I love.Well when it arrived very quickly (thanks, Amazon Prime) I was excited to try it out. Followed the instructions as included and I ended up with burnt popcorn. So I thought, here I am – the Small Appliance Queen who has another popcorn popper that doesn’t work. Yes, I own a Presto Air Popper, West Bend Stir Crazy, a plastic microwave popper (purchased before we became informed about the issues with PBA), and a stovetop popper. None of these lets me pop corn in a quick healthy manner using no oil or butter.So I cleaned the Catamount popper out and tried about 10 other methods from trying to use moistened popcorn to standing in front of the microwave and watching it like a “hawk trying to catch a mouse” so I could turn off the microwave off at the precise moment and keep it from burning again. No success! Either it was burned or only half popped. So I went back and read some of the Amazon reviews thinking maybe I was missing something and found out I had.So I placed enough popcorn in the Catamount popper to cover the bottom (just one layer thick – not too much popcorn) and used my Whirlpool 1.6 Cu Ft 1200 watts countertop microwave’s Popcorn button. And the popcorn came out perfect, without being burnt, and just a few un-popped kernels in the bottom of the popper. Yes, the popped corn is a tiny bit moist due to the steam and this is great because when I dump it into my popcorn bowl and put a little sea salt on it, the moisture helps the salt to stick to the corn. So the key all this time has been to use the POPCORN Button on my microwave and if you have a setting for mini, small, etc. bags don’t use that, use the Regular setting and try it. I just finished popping another batch and yum, yum it is great. Also when the microwave stops, remove (carefully) the popper and pour your popcorn into another bowl. If you let it sit in the microwave it can burn.Remember to use the Regular Popcorn button and remove immediately after the Popcorn cycle has finished. I'm not sure how you're using it. Easy as pie! Just pour ONE layer of kernels into the pot, pop for 3 - 4 minutes and then take out and toss with a little oil and spices. Yum! I like being able to use cheap kernels without popping them on the stove and I can make "gourmet" popcorn using my own combinations of spices and toppings. I don't recommend using the butter melting option just because it doesn't distribute very evenly. I keep the lid on while cooking so no kernels pop out of the bowl, and if I want butter I melt it in the actual container after dumping the popcorn in a bowl and then drizzling on top. This DOES get hot, however it's glass so that's to be expected. I was also very impressed that it's made of food grade lab glass which means it's definitely safe (I'm so used to having to be skeptical about the products I'm using). This makes it quite difficult to get the popcorn out without burning yourself (okay, maybe I need to be more patient and wait for it to cool down). Also, you have to watch this very carefully to ensure that the popcorn does not burn.
