It is great, it gives you a creamy great tasting plant based yogurt that taste much better than cow's milk
This is a great product. I have been making soy yogurt batches after batches. sometimes i use this and other times if I have left over soy yogurts I use few spoon of those instead. It is very easy to use this and it will give you a creamy, thick and delicious yogurt each time.I use soy milk, plain. No flavor as I like plain yogurt. I use it for baking as well. I buy the packet Plain yogurts from Costco. 12 of them for $14. It will give me 14 batches of yummy and healthy cholesterol free yogurt with lots of protein and probiotics. All I do is to mix few spoon of soy yogurt or a packet of this product (which is great by the way) and mix it with half cup of soy in room temperature. I then warm up the remaining soy packet until it is hot ( I don't even measure the temperature once you make it successfully you kind know ) but until it stats giving me a little foam(but before it is boiling). it is very important you don't boil it or your yogurt will be sour and its protein will be broken. If you accidentally boil it , don't use it for yogurt. Use it otherwise. I then wait 10 minutes to cool off a little while it is still warm I add the yogurt maker mix and put it in incubator (yogurt maker or whatever else you use to keep it warm at the same temperature). In 8 hours, I have the best fresh great tasting yogurt you can never find in any store. Not to manufacture: your product is great. I bought it because I believe is vegan. However please make a note that it is vegan. If you are making a vegan healthy product (which I am thankful for) please just make a sign a note or something that is vegan so those of us who care to buy vegan products, buy it with confidence. Thanks

strong, vigorous culture
I am pleased with it. All the yogurt I have made with it turns out well, both dairy and vegan. I even use it to ferment grains, like oatmeal. I use my digital thermometer (a thermometer is a must for yogurt) and for warmth I use my Brod & Taylor proofer, so I can use whatever size jars I like, and have different jars fermenting at the same time. The longer I leave it in the proofer, the more sour it gets because the bacteria are eating the sugars. This culture would ferment beans well, too. Why not?

Great results for coconut and nut milk yogurt
I am very pleased with this yogurt starter! I am intolerant of dairy, soy and almonds and have been making my own coconut milk yogurt for over a month now. At first, I tried using the powder in probiotic capsules, but the yogurt just didn't have that distinctive yogurt tang. This starter imparts a tangy, real dairy-like yogurt taste and is very easy to use. Non-dairy yogurt can be very thin compared to yogurt made from cow's or goat's milk, so I add 4 teaspoons of high quality unflavored gelatin to the batch (42 oz) and it turns out great. Thick enough, but not too thick or gelatinous. Also, I culture my yogurt for about 20 hours in a yogurt maker to create the tangy flavor (less than that resulted in finished product that was too sweet). I recently made a coconut milk/cashew milk yogurt and it turned out fine. I'm so delighted to have yogurt on the menu again!

I have had mixed results using this starter from packets from the same box. The first batch of yogurt made was perfect, while the second batch barley thickened and never got that tart yogurt taste. I have made yogurt many, many times using another starter and never had this problem. I was anxious to try this new brand because I liked that it can also be purchased at Whole Foods, so I don't always have to wait for shipping. But, because of the inconsistent results I think I will return to my original brand.

Responsive Company, Great Product
I ordered this without looking at the ingredients. It contains the natural additive maltodextrin. Usually, maltodextrin isn't an issue. But I am allergic to one of the foods from which it is frequently derived.I sent the company an e-mail on their website. I was asking for some pretty picky info, information which other companies have denied to me (which is legal and OK, I just can't then use the product.)This company replied within just a couple of hours, letting me know their maltodextrin comes from a source my body can handle! Someone had to read my email, do some actual digging, maybe even call their supplier and wait for a reply, then reply back to me.Oh, my coconut milk yogurt is fantastic, too!

Doesn’t work
I’ve been making yogurt for a while in my Instant Pot and decided to give this a try. Utter failure. This starter results in absolutely nothing more than whatever I started with: warm almond or cashew milk. 4 stars for a yogurt starter is basically a 20% failure rate. Stay away.

It comes out very tart which some people like, but I find there is something strange about ...
I have been experimenting with making soy yogurt. It is so expensive to buy in the store, and so I thought I would try to make it. I tried this starter using 2 methods:1. I used my instant pot pressure cooker with a yogurt function combined with a cheap yogurt maker to allow the yogurt to remain at the same temperature for 10 hours. I used Edensoy soy milk2 I also tried it heating the milk on the stove in a normal pot. I used silk soy milk.I found using the pressure cooker much easier. But, in both cases I found that the starter works very well. The yogurt I made comes out very tart which some people like, but I find there is something strange about the flavor. It might be bacteria mix included or not having found the right balance for the time it takes to let the yogurt develop... Great buy but requires some tinkering to find the perfect recipe.

Great yogurt starter
Great yogurt starter I have made my own soy yogurt for years. I used PB eight but the capsules were now far beyond due date. The reason I know that was all of a sudden that yoga didn’t taste good and I made a new one and that also didn’t taste good looked at the date and there was outdated I ordered the bell and Bella and like it better than the PB eight. A little firmer and I also like the flavor a little better. Not huge change but a little.I like the packaging was not huge. It came on time. The packaging was actually opened not the envelopes with the actual powder
