I have medium thick hair. Out of the package the two barrettes looked lovely. However, when I first tried to use one of the them it was difficult to get it around my ponytail as the opening was too narrow. I had to feed hair in little by little. When I closed the clasp it remained closed but slid down and didn’t hold my hair at all. So disappointing. My first thought was to return them. Then I had a thought. I created my ponytail with a thick elastic band. Then I added the clasp. That made it easier to get on. I positioned the barrette over the elastic to hide it. That worked like a charm and the barrettes stays firmly in place. So they’re now a keeper. They don’t hold my hair on their own but function better as a very pretty decoration to hide a rubber band.

These are super cute! Unfortunately they didn't work for my needs. I had planned on using it in a half pony to dress up a wedding guest style. My hair is too thin though and it didn't work. Would work on thicker hair or for a full pony. Had to return, but really wish it had worked for me.

If you have thick hair it’s not worth it.

I have super thick hair and this thing can clip but then springs open. The opening is big enough but the clip can't withstand my hair. I think it's well made and super cute but can't wear it.

These are beautiful but are so flimsy that they fell apart after two uses. Disappointed. Too late to send back.

I didn't want to believe the negative reviews where folks said their clasp broke, I thought it was a fluke and mine purchase would be fine. No so. I put on the pretty gold clasp and it help and then I heard a pop and my hair (ponytail) was no longer bound. I grabbed the clasp, still attached to my hair and found the hoop and clasp were separated, which is why my hair was no longer bound in a ponytail. I tried re-attaching the clasp but it still wouldn't work. So I have to return these, they are pretty but they do not work.
