Easy install on 1999 Ford E-150 and 1999 Chev Silverado
Easy install on 1999 Ford E-150 and 1999 Chev Silverado, we didn't actually need the bypass module for the Ford, but did for the Chevy. Controls are straight forward and it always work. The instructions are the best I've seen.Comparison: We had a Python on our 2005 Honda Odyssey and the install was miserable and the controls were not clear, and it only started about 80%.

Overall an OK experience
In the end, this product does what it was intended to do. I gave it 3 stars, rather than 5, because the first received was not operational. Amazon's fast replacement saved the day and we had a working unit. We installed this using the included documentation and specifics from the internet. If you gather all of the required documentation, installation is pretty straight forward. It took us about 2 hours to install this and have it up and running. The range is decent, but not as good as expected. It will work from in the house to an attached driveway, but perhaps not from an office to a nearby parking lot. If you're looking for long range, this is probably not the right unit. If you're generally pretty close, this will work great and has a lot of features. Also note that installation isn't plug and play. You do have to tap into wires and have some mechanical knowledge to install.I would have given it 4 starts if the first unit hadn't arrived dead or if Bulldog's support line had been a little more responsive.

I too had issues with getting the remotes to work ...
I too had issues with getting the remotes to work out of the box, but a quick call to tech support got the issue resolved. Here is the email from tech support, the 2nd paragraph fixed my issues with a 07 Hynudai Sonta. When the unit is ready to learn a new remote it will click continuously when you apply power, if it clicks 3 times, there is another remote in the memory and needs reset. While resetting unit, have the parking light switch in the positive (+) position. If unit is clicking continuously, but does not respond to the remote, check/ replace remote battery. If you get no response from your remote, you need to clear the memory and reset the module, make sure you are putting 12 volts to the blue/ black (from 9 or 16 pin ) brake wire when you press on the brake. Some vehicle’s brake wire won’t throw 12 volts unless the key is in run position. Turn key to run, (if it needs to be on to light stoplights otherwise leave key off). If your key does not need to be on for stop lights to work ,PRESS and HOLD brake, insert the ignition key and turn to run(ignition on) position, now turn the key back one click and then forward, then back again, do this 20 times and go as fast as you can( at least 5 times within 4 seconds). Now release the brake, remove both red wires from the top of the module ,wait 5 seconds and reconnect one of the red wires, if the box clicks 3 times , the memory did not clear, so repeat cycling the key , while holding down brake, go faster turning the key. When the module starts to click constantly when the red wire is removed and reconnected, the memory has cleared, press and hold brake, press any button on the remote, the clicking will stop and your module will now respond to your remote. Reconnect all your wires and unit will be ready to use. NOTE: Some older remote starters require a ground on the black/blue hood pin wire (if hood pin is installed, just raise your hood) in addition to holding brake and pressing the remote. If you cannot turn your key fast enough to get unit to clear, try this method. Step on brake to light your stop lights (turn on ignition if needed).Unplug ign. 1 (white wire ) from unit and remove one red wire from top of module, touch the red hot wire to the ign.1 connector, where white wire was, very fast 20 times. Remove other red wire for 5 sec. then reconnect, unit will click constantly, if you got the memory to clear, press brake and press any button on the remote, the clicking will stop and the remote will now work with the remote starter. If reconnecting gives only 3 clicks, you didn’t clear it so repeat procedure and touch the connector faster with the red wire. When you get a remote to work, if you have a 2nd remote you must program it. Hold your foot on the brake, press and hold start on the WORKING remote until the park lights flash, keep holding brake, release WORKING remote and press any button on 2nd remote, both should now work.

Pretty sure i got a returned or poorly reconed unit. Was all scratched up out of box.
When i got it, it had clearly been either remanufactured (poorly) or previously installed and defective. I installed anyways because the marks were just on the outside case and could possibly be just superficial.Followed instructions to a tee. And hooked up and it just started clicking a relay inside but not actually starting the car. So it appears this is defective or failed from a previous install. Also it came with a security bypass module 791 or at least i think thats what part number it was but not marked anywhere on it and it said there was a place to put an extra ignition key inside it but there really wasn't. I have installed another bulldog remote start with a 791 module and it had an actual place for the key. This really didn't.Very disappointed in this one.One i bought a few years ago worked fine but was a diffrent model number. This one seemed like it was thrown together to fufill an order. I went back to try to get a return and it says end of january to beginning of feb for a replacement unit. Today is dec 26th. Not waiting that long. Going to try to return but have all the pigtails spliced into car aready and i am not taking them out. They were a pain to install because of tight spaces(which is probably true for any remote starter).

I had two different modules. It would not have worked at all if I did not go on the Internet to find the problems and figure them out myself from other websites. One fob did not work at all and only the starter worked the doors and trunk did not work.Tech support did not answer my calls.Tech support did not answer my emails.Tech support did not take my last contact attempt at all.Go to another company for this device. This company has many tech issues. If I did not know electronics well this would have been worse.Do not buy this product.

Bought two one module would not program...had to install second one and the batteries were almost dead for the remote on it but at least the module worked. Was Christmas gifts for wife and daughter....my daughter has a starter. Took two days to install with all the problems and I had it installed by a GM. Certified technician...I feel sorry for non mechanics trying to install.
