THIS BOOK MAY BE WRITTEN FOR CHILDREN, BUT AN ADULT CAN LEARN FROM IT AND ENJOY READIND IT TOO. I REMEMBER MY GRANDMOTHER TOLD ME THIS SAME STORY WHEN I WAS A CHILD ABOUT DON BOSCOS' WOLF FRIEND. THIS MISTERY WAS REAL.

Nearly every night my son ask for this story. He loves this retelling of St John Bosco's character and character and how his mysterious dog Grigio helped in continuing his ministry by encouragement and protection. The illustrations are much to be desired they are childlike, the mixed media seems more raw than refined and does not blend well. My son doesn't mind though as he loves seeing how grigio appears to help fr. Bosco.

I have a 9 yr. old grandson who loves dogs! I knew the story of how God sent a dog to protect St. John Bosco whenever he was in danger, and I wanted my grandson to know that story too. This book was just what I needed. I read the story to my grandson & to his siblings--ages 7, 5 and 4. This book had just enough text and very good illustrations! I recommend it to all children who love dogs.

Great book but not necessarily for young ones. I have a 4 yo and so I skip over some of the more detailed violence in the story. However, my nephew loves the story and we used it to celebrate the feast of St. John Bosco. Recommend for families who are building their Catholic libraries and teaching their children about the faith and the saints.

I just read this beautifully illustrated children's book by Hayley Medeiros about Saint John Bosco. What is wonderful about this book is that you, or your child, do not have to be Catholic to enjoy it. Clearly, Saint John Bosco was an extraordinary person who led an extraordinary life, caring for children and animals. This book is a "must" for any child's library. I look forward to future books by Hayley Medeiros. I would love to see a series of books about other saints. Ms. Medeiros' writing style is very endearing, informative, and direct: simple enough for a child to understand, but also thought provoking for adults to enjoy.

Love this book - informative and inspiring. There is one page that could be a little scary to children. We will still read and cherish!

My 4 and 6 year old grandsons love this story. It's charming. They want me to read it to them each time they come to our house.

Absolutely fantastic Children's Book! I bought and read this book with fabulous illustrations. This children's book chronicles the life of St. John Bosco and his beloved "big gray dog" Grigio. Excellent story that will warm your heart! A must have for all children's libraries. But don't stop at children's libraries, great for adults, too! Great purchase!!!

I like reading story of the life of St John Bosco, and also the story of the mysterious dog
