Cozy and Toasty for Those Chilly Days of Winter!
I love Minus 33 products! I have their thick wool socks, their long sleeved wool tops, their 'long john" wool bottoms just to name a few clothing items. I buy their socks 6 pair at a time because I love them so much for that wonderful warmth you need in the winter. Now I have this super neck gaiter. In fact, I bought 2 Navy, 2 black, 2 tan and one violet. So warm!!! Not possible to pull up over your head, but to keep your neck warm then this is ideal! I don't need a wool scarf! But they aren't just for outside. I have worn these around the house just to feel toasty! Sort of stylish with a long sleeved top and a pair of sweats! And with the socks and other items, I don't need to turn on the heat in 40 degree weather! I read some other reviewers felt this gaiter is itchy a bit. I am used to Minus 33 and never feel the itch--if there is one to begin with--Merino wool is not really an itchy wool. Not like way back in the day when all wool seemed itchy. I think wool is the best thing going to keep you warm on a cold day. And Minus 33 makes the best Merino wool items for the best price on the market! I wouldn't go snowboarding or skiing without them! I do have to say that I found the Navy and the Black colors went over my head easier than the tan or the violet ones. There is a little cord in one end of this gaiter that is sewn in and it seems a bit tighter on the last two colors than on the first two that I mentioned. My head is small, so it isn't a big deal to me, but just letting you know.

Very warm
I love this neck gaiter! Very warm and soft. I have bought more as gifts for friends and family. Keeping your neck warm in the middle of winter makes a big difference. Quality product.

Love it!
The nice thing about authentic merino wool as you don't get sweaty like you do with cotton or fleece. It breathes with your skin and helps regulate your temperature much better. This is the right thickness and provides plenty of warmth on those frigid days yet it's extremely soft to the touch

Smaller in circumference than expected
Soft, warm, and a nice weight. It is smaller than I expected. It measures about 8" across, so 16" circumference. It is tighter around the neck than I'd like, but well-made and nice material.

Warm
Soft material & very warm for the cold & windy days in a Minnesota winter climate! Love its stretchy material.

Head and Shoulders above other Wool Gaiters
Originally purchased the Minus 33 Merino Wool Gaiter based a very positive experience with their Merino Wool Mid-layer tops and bottoms. Ball was dropped by Am-z-n on delivery, so I ordered a Smart Wool Gaiter as replacement, as we are about to depart on a February cruise to Norway. We did finally receive the Minus33 Gaiter and were able to do a direct comparison to the Smart Wool model. Synopsis: Minus33 Gaiter is double layer, extremely soft, wind-proof, warm and wicks away moisture effectively. Smart Wool Gaiter is so thin you can literally see though it, if you pull it up over your eyes. Not warm. Not effective in windy conditions. Smart Wool does include a cute multi-color bracelet with their Gaiter. I would rather be warm.

Minus33 rocks, as usual!
I have worn this for a few weeks now, so I feel I can give a review. Like all Minus33 gear, it is made of soft, New Zealand raised (sewn in China), merino wool. The good stuff, in other words. As a fan of natural fabrics, especially wool (and linen), I seek out merino wool for if at all possible. It is generally soft and not irritating to the skin (I suffer from allergies to darn near everything), warm, and it breathes. The latter is all the more important when exerting yourself in the cold (and heat).I ordered this mostly for my bicycle commute, as a cold neck and chin are definitely not pleasant (and downright dangerous when extremely cold at speed). This gaiter is the ideal weight for exerting myself on the bike, providing insulation from the wind and allowing perspiration to evaporate. It allows some wind to penetrate, but is still warm (I run hot, so your conditions may be different). I find it useful down to about 15F or so, any colder than that and I don't ride (and too many encounters with iced pavement). It has plenty of stretch to it, easily staying on my face over the chin, mouth, or nose. It is easily adjusted as conditions change. The latter will result in condensation on my glasses, but that is the case with most gaiters and balaclavas. It can even cover the ears, although I usually wear a cap under the helmet, as cold ears are my pet, and painful, peeve.Wash-wise, Minus33 gear is all machine washable on cold. I believe the tags list low dry, but I prefer to line dry my wool goods.Only quibble I have is that I feel it could be a little longer, for more coverage down into my jersey.Recommended!
