Awesome replacement for earlier models.
Getting 600mbps out of these in MESH format, only real complaint is the super bright blue LED.

sooooo many technical details wrong with this, can't recommend
soooo many things wrong. This is with 9/2025 firmware upgrade, 2.08. The Web inteface said it shipped with 1.13 and is (c) 2019. Interesting that the latest is (c) 2023 instead of 2025. After all, it is just a string within the system image, and not all that important. A supposedly AP-specific Wi-Fi PSK is printed on the unit, but no randomized default admin passwd? (also admin). Max length of passwords is only 20, which is pretty good, but makes it seems like it's stored directly and not hashed like it should be. The admin page does let you add admin users. Associating a SSID with a VLAN is hokey (well, not well labelled). Instead of it being just another parameter on the SSID configuration page, you have to go to the "System => Management VLAN" page. The input validation claims a VLAN ID of 1 is invalid. It seemed odd that the "auto" channel was 5 and not 1, 6, or 11, but that could be for accommodation of 40 MHz wide channels. There doesn't seem to be a setting to limit the channel width, in case you wanted to limit to 20. HTTPS is available, but no way to install a certificate, nor generate one, making it insecure anyway. Better than nothing I suppose. After a reboot, redirects to a built-in name, tew-825dap, not the address/name you assigned to it or were using, and always HTTP and not HTTPS. The year is nearly 2026, and the reason you're not supporting modern SSH KEXes is??? (OpenSSH shows "no matching key exchange method found"). Due to its insecurity, WPS shouldn't even be offered, yet it is. At least before I upgraded the firmware, it defaulted to "on." Although this supports IPv6, it seems like a second-class citizen, where you have to select specific items (e.g. IPv6 Status instead of it just being on the main dashboard). it takes 15 seconds or so more to return pings than IPv4 pings after a reboot/poweron. Just about every setting you change briefly shows "Success!", but there doesn't seem to be an indication that you need to save and reboot to take effect. I get it, when you go to the save page, the usual thing you want to do is save and reboot, but not quite sure why you can't save and reboot later. It does take nearly the whole 90 seconds seen in the browser to fully boot, which I guess is OK, but seems long. Can't configure an arbitrary SNTP server, only choose from 6 names. (pool.ntp.org is not a bad choice, just that I ought to be able to configure one which is on my LAN, or be a broadcast listener). Some positives: it offers a built-in or external captive portal. It has guest mode, configurable per SSID. It does allow you to separate clients (whch is, I think, you can only communicate with something on the LAN, not other clients). Although seemingly of limited use, it will MAC filter, and allows you to blacklist and disconnect clients on the tabs of the dashboard page ("blacklist" and "kick" buttons).

No WPA 3, iPhone compatibility issues
I wouldn't recommend this vendor. Many of the products are using dated standards. It works but I experienced serious issued with iPhone devices.

Great home AP
I have this paired up with another TRENDnet POE managed switch. It works perfectly with my FortiGate 60F. I enjoy having the networks VLAN tagged so traffic can be easily managed at the switch and the gate. Very simple interface and the physical appearance gets the seal of approval from the wife.

Superior little unit that will certainly impress
Excellent little hidden gem, and VERY well supported. Like most Trendnet stuff, this one is well worth your $$. Make sure you've got a good poe+ circuit/switch, don't get cheap. We're using 3 now on a 6k sqft house on 3 floors, and they replaced 9 ap's. Touche, Trendnet!

Keeps Dropping Clients and Refuses to Reconnect
This review applies to two TRENDnet products with the same issue, the AC2200 TEW-826 and the N300 TEW-755AP. They both have the same firmware bug. They randomly drop clients, even in the middle of streaming, and refuse to let the clients reconnect. If you reboot the Access Point, then it lets the clients reconnect immediately (until the next time it happens). Clueless TRENDnet tech support was unable to resolve the issue and told me to return the products, which I did. I say "clueless" because they completely ignored the diagnostic logs generated by the products and just ran me through the standard script, making no effort to actually diagnose the problem. These products work fine otherwise, but this issue makes them unreliable. I have an older TRENDnet product which does not exhibit this issue. I finally bought a Netgear product to replace these duds. I gave them 2 stars because if TRENDnet ever gets their act together and fixes the firmware bug, then these would be good products, just like the older TRENDnet product that I've had for years. Until then, look for something else more reliable.

Great coverage - Worked in a mesh environment
I was surprised by how well the TEW-825DAP covered the area compared to the Trendnet 753DAP version. Good features to easily configure two units to work together in a mesh environment.

Can’t rename it and my pc doesn’t have a CD drive - seems very archaic. Also, unit itself is large
I was hoping to replace the old one with the same but it’s been very difficult to figure out how to use and change the name and password to match the rest of the house
