After discovering my sister and her family were totally without tunes recently, I couldn't stand it, so my wife and I gifted her a small stereo system and a fair number of CD's for her birthday, as well a set of these Koss headphones to replace the cheap earbuds she'd been using for ages. She loved the stereo, but incredibly, it's been the headphones over which she totally lost it! ;-) Absolutely loves them! Turns out she wasn't buying the cheap earbuds because she preferred the type or style, but because that's what she could afford. She had only her iPhone and Samsung tablet, but while they weren't too bad in a pinch for videos or movies, their on board 'speaker' systems just weren't capable of reproducing the sort of clean, clear, accurate, full-range and high fidelity stereo sound necessary for music! For that, external speakers or headphones are necessary, and the better the headphones or speakers, the better the music sounds! While nowhere near ideal, the dirt cheap earplugs were better than nothing, not to mention the best she could afford and still pay the bills and feed the family! Now though, not only can she once again enjoy clean, clear, high fidelity music on demand and rock the house with other music lovers, she can instead plug in her new Koss headphones and enjoy music sounding every bit as good or better when all alone or if she just doesn't want to disturb anyone else. The headphones also turned her phone and tablet into the wonderfully portable, full range, high-fi music devices they were designed to be -- great sounding music anywhere! Obviously, my sister is enjoying having great tunes again, but the thing she raves about the most is how much better the new headphones sound than the cheap earbuds to which she'd grown accustomed! She goes on about it so much and so often that eventually, I decided to try a set myself. Why not? The headphones I have honestly sound pretty mediocre, my sister is crazy about 'em, they're ssuper affordable, they sell very well online, they have an overwhelmingly positive history of 4 star and higher reviews and Amazon customer service has my back if I don't like them. I can't lose. ;-) I'm very glad I bought a set for myself. The sound quality is great: clean, clear and uncolored, with accurate, tight bass and a high end that won't grate on your last nerve. If it was recorded, that's what you'll hear. They easily ⁷knock the socks off the more than twice as expensive headset I was using, and the light weight makes them much more comfortable as well. You can just about forget you have them on when you're communing with your muse. ;-) At this price, you can't go wrong! Based on other headsets I've tried over the years, I seriously doubt you could find anything as good for less than a hundred bucks, and that probably is pushing it. Buying them was a no-brainer! ;-) I've never been a huge fan of headphones, but it's a piece of kit that is needed occasionally. So while these Koss headphones accurately and adequately reproduce the music I enjoy, I'm sure they're not perfect. Certainly they are going to come nowhere near the performance level of the best and most expensive headphones out there, whatever those might be, but they're nowhere near the cost either. I happen to be very picky about what the music I love sounds like when it reaches my ears. It took more than five decades of progressively better and yes, more expensive, equipment to finally make my stereo sound "right," but I am completely happy with my fifty dollar Koss Porta vPro headphones. If you have any complaints at all about the headset you're now using, but don't have three hundred plus dollars handy to replace them, this might just be the best fifty bucks you'll ever spend. Great uncolored sound, comfort and affordability makes recommending these easy. Excellent product!

Well, I guess after owning a pair of these Porta Pros for over two decades now, I thought I would come here and write a quick review. I live in Milwaukee (where the Koss Headquarters is located), and I believe I'm on my fourth (maybe fifth) pair of the Porta Pros, but I only ever paid for the first pair. All of the replacements were courtesy of Koss (I actually still have my original receipt from Soundstage). Some pairs just wore out and a couple were damaged out of carelessness, but Koss has always come through for me. And of course, I have gone through LOTS of ear pads. I'm listed as a verified purchaser on Amazon because I just ordered some of these for my son. I am an admitted audiophile and I own a very nice assortment of headphones and amps, so when I praise these Porta Pros I am doing so from a quality and value standpoint. Obviously these phones aren't going to keep up with high end pairs costing up into the hundreds of dollars, but the sound quality is excellent for what these little babies do cost (my son's pair was $30). What's more, it wasn't until I started to get into the nicer cans that I really started to appreciate what these Porta Pros were capable of. To understand these phones, you have to understand the pop music (and hardware) from the decade in which they were designed. Just like lots of bass is all the rage in much of the current pop music; in the 80's it was treble. Dolby processing was starting to become common on portable cassette players, and CD's were just starting to hit the market in mass. Both formats now allowed for the ability to play back higher highs with improved clarity but without distortion and artist were really taking advantage of this. Just go back and listen to 80's music that hasn't been re-mastered and you'll see what I'm talking about. If you go to Headphone dot com's "Build a Graph" page and look at the graph for these Porta Pros, you'll see that they're tuned to bring up the low end while reducing the highs, thus providing a much flatter response from the players and recordings of the time. If you have an equalizer available in your system (computer, phone, etc) it is very easy to "flatten" the sound curve of these little Porta Pros, and the results are amazing. Using the Koss Porta Pro graph on the "Headphone" Build a Graph page, viewed in the 15db dynamic range, I simply reduced and raised the available frequencies to flatten out the curve. These are excellent starting settings and you can tweak for personal preference from here. Just make small changes and sample a variety of your favorite tracks. The numbers below are the frequency adjustment points from Windows Media Player, and they are almost identical to iTunes. If you're limited to maybe a 5 band EQ on your phone just adjust the frequencies available to you. This really kills the volume in Goolge Play Music on my Nexus 5 which isn't all that loud in the first place, so I use an external amp and the sound is great. 31Hz to +1 / 62Hz to -6 / 125Hz to -7 / 250Hz to -5 / 500Hz to -1 / 1KHz 0 / 2KHz to -1 / 4Khz to +5 / 8KHz to +3 / 16KHz to +9 I now use the Porta Pros mainly at work in combination with my Nuforce uDAC-2 and it's an excellent pairing that gives a really impressive sound. The soundstage the Porta Pros are capable of is pretty big as well. If you want to experience this for yourself, just start playing a song (live music works well for this test) and then cover the outside of the phones with your hands. You should hear the soundstage collapse significantly and then re-open when you take your hands away. Obviously, the Porta Pros can't always keep up when recordings start getting louder and more complicated, but at the moderate to low levels I generally listen at any problems are much less apparent (and really almost unnoticeable). And, they can still play pretty clean and loud when I feel like it. Especially with the audio quality and power available from my little DAC/amp. What can I say about the styling? When I got my first pair they weren't even cool anymore. I think they would look a lot better if they dumped the blue parts and went with all black and steel. The stainless steel band will catch your hair from time to time, but after you learn to put them on and off it isn't much of a problem. The "Comfort Zone" adjustments really do work/help me, and like I said earlier, you should order some spare ear pads right away too. If you wear these out in public enough you will definitely get some stares, but you may also meet some fellow Porta Pro enthusiasts. I also noticed that the bag that came with my son's pair is a bit smaller than the old bags. I get the feeling they've made it as small as possible to save money. What it does is make it really hard to put the headphones in and out easily. All in all, these phones still sound as good as ever; and for people who buy these, sound is what matters. If you can live with the styling and the loss of a few strands of hair, I don't think you'll find anything better at this price. Save your receipt and you can always get a new pair if anything bad happens. Koss hit a winner 30 years ago, and I'm amazed that these are still so popular today, but really, once you hear them it'll all be clear.

Koss PortaPro Headphones January 2, 2010 I really like the PortaPro headphones, They sound great, they are very comfortable to wear and they're built well. If you take care of them (meaning not putting them in your front pocket or slinging them around)I doubt you would ever have a problem with the construction of this headset. One thing in particular I really like is that the ear pad (speaker on either side) swivel a bit which makes for a good fit on the ears. And yes these are on the ear headphones NOT over the ear, big difference. While over the ear headphones traps sound better, its very uncomfortable for me. The first question I was asked when doing this review was "How do you rate this item" Well, I put four stars out of a possible five only because there are better headphones. However, those better headphones(as anyone knows) are twice as good, but also command three or four times the price! The quality of bass you get from the Koss PortaPro Headphones is nothing short of incredible! Music simply doesn't sound good without good clean sharp bass (Not the kind of bass you hear when some guy drives by in his pimp mobile and the trunk is rattling!) which the PortaPro headphones certainly deliver! I read a lot of good reviews about the Koss PortaPro, when I was looking for a decent reasonably priced set of headphones with good bass that had good all around sound I was pleasantly surprised at just how good these headphone are! And again, for the price, these headphones are simply amazing and worth every penny of the $32.99 I paid for them! If you need a good pair of headphones that sound good and can deliver a good clean bass sound, and you don't want to spend a lot of money, than you can stop looking because you found them! I have no need to look for any other headphones the Koss PortaPro are more than good enough! Update: December 10, 2011 I still have my PortaPro Headphones. They are still incredible! I have listened to at least two pair of headphones that were over four times the price and they didn't sound as good, close but not quite. I'm still amazed at this... The construction of these headphones is just like I thought they would be, sturdy and long lasting. It's been a year since I bought them, I will need to replace the foam cushions in about another year, which could have been made a bit thicker for added comfort, but these are excellent on the ear head phones! Finally, I'm going to purchase another pair of PortaPro over the ear headphones and a few extra foam cushions! If you want a very decent pair of on the ear headphones that sound very good, have good clean bass, clean sound, look no further there isn't a pair better for the price and in many cases not at three times the price. Update: March 3rd 2014 The Koss PortaPro headphones are still the best set of "on the ear" head phones you are likely to find anywhere. I still have my original set (and another set still in the box) and they still sound phenomenal! And the construction of these head phones are nothing short of amazing! The only problem I had was I accidentally stepped on my wire to the left side of these head phones when I putting them away and it pulled the wire out. I would really like to see a female receptacle built into the head phones on both sides that way you could just plug the male receptacle in. I sent Koss an email regarding this. The cushions wore out (which I expected would happen) on mine after about two years, but I got the Koss replacement cushions (you get three pairs for about ($4.00) which were very easy to put on, don't listen to some of the hype about them not fitting or hard to put on its not true... You want a decent pair of on the ear head phones(reasonably priced, I paid $32.99 for the 1st pair and $38.00 for the 2nd) that have good base response and all around amazing sound? These are what you're looking for... Note: Check back on Amazon from time to time, the price of these amazing on the ear head phones vary greatly, from as much as $49.00 to $32.00. Good hunting. I have reviewed many audio devices over the years. I like to consider myself a "budget audiophile". I love great sounding gear, but don't want to break the bank to enjoy great sounding. music! I was beyond impressed with the Koss Porta Pro classics. First, as a member of Gen X, these take me back to the days of the Walkman and mix tapes. What goes around comes around, and the old school aesthetics of the Porta Pros look unique in the age of boring, ubiquitous earbuds. Throw some aftermarket Yaxi pads on these and they look even better. The sound on these, for the price point, is amazing. These are "open speakers" meaning that the speakers are not enclosed. These are also "on ear" headphones. Others WILL be able to hear what you are listening to. I tested these with a variety of devices and configurations. I listened to them straight through my laptop, on my laptop with a "DAC dongle", and on my phone which has a high-end DAC chip built into it. They sounded great on all devices and configurations. Of course, the DACs made these sound even better! These sound great, especially in the mids and highs. These were designed around the time when Dolby noise reduction came out. Many artists used this Dolby technology to push the high-end range of recordings. These Porta Pros definitely were designed to reproduce those high-end sounds and do so amazingly! The open speaker design seems to really give these a deep sound stage. Instrumentation is deep and immersive. There is great separation of sound with these. Panning sounds move around you and have a great depth to them. Bass is strong and punchy, however these will not be cans that will impress the "bass heads". Again, keep in mind these were designed in the 80s and were optimized for the music and tech at that time. I test these with a "bass sweep" frequency test. These really start to sound great in the low range around 30 hz. These will distort under the right circumstances, which I found to be tracks with deep base, and using my DAC with high volume but this not common or a concern. These are amazing for "rock" music (classic rock, pop, metal, etc.) but they also sound great with modern music (EDM, hip hop, etc). These are comfortable to wear for extended periods. The "comfort" slides on the sides are a bit more gimmick than functional. Do they work? Yes. Is it that big of difference between settings? Not really. To adjust the comfort sliders, you have to slightly fold the earpiece as if you were folding them up to put them in the case. These will "click" pack once you move the earpiece. The carrying case they come with is all but worthless. I have read other reviews where users have broken their headphones taking them out of the carrying case. It is barely big enough to get them in there once folded. I put mine in a hardshell case with another pair of headphones. Finally, a great thing about the Koss Porta Pros is their limited lifetime warranty. If these break, stop working, etc. send them back with your receipt and 9 dollars and you be sent another pair! These headphones can literally last you a lifetime! I know of people who have had multiple sets of Porta Pros over the last 20 years by taking advantage of this warranty. TL/DR; Awesome old school looks with amazing sound at a price point that feels like a steal! Bass may not knock your socks off but sounds great. Carrying poach is cheap, but the warranty is amazing!

I was skeptical about how these would feel/sound when I purchased them. I needed a lightweight pair of headphones for soundboard monitor use when just needed to do a quick sound check without turning my whole monitoring system on. I've used these on a '90s Kenwood amp system at home with a quarter jack adapter, my laptop, the soundboard they were purchased for, and I can't get enough of them! Are they cheaply made? Yes. Do they let everyone around you hear what you're listening to? Sure do! But the sound overall for an over-the-ear headset is pretty dang good! Punchy with some hints of bass, they work perfectly for general use and listening. They won't sound as good as a pair of Samsung buds or Beats but still kick pretty well. If you have glasses, these are awesome as well just due to the foam supports keeping the physical headphones off of your temples and your upper ear. Overall, a pretty good set of headphones for the price. I 100% recommend getting a better set of earmuffs at the same time. I bought a larger orange set and they made the wearing experience a whole lot better compared to the very small black set the headphones come with. If you plan to travel with these things, get a hard case of some sort because they will get destroyed in a bulky or filled backpack. UPDATE: I have been using them for a month or two now, and I can still say, they are keeping up! I use them while working in my room on homework and such and sometimes I forget they are on because of how light they are! Which is great, because it keeps me from having fatigue or pain on my head from wearing them for extended periods. Besides that, they're still going strong!

Consider this my first impression review of these headphones, as I have only had them for about 10 minutes. I'll come back to this review later as I get more use out of them. Packaging: Excellent, yet minimalist. My set came in a black box bearing photos of the headphones from different perspectives on 3 of the four sides. Inside, the headphones rest in a black plastic shelf, with a clear plastic cover. The cord is hidden behind a cardboard piece sitting just below the headphones. Aside from the headphones, the only other thing in the box is warranty and safety information, and a black drawstring carry pouch that looks and feels like denim. All in all, perhaps not up to Apple's packaging standards, but very nice for $25 headphones (probably even for $50 ones). Design and materials: it's a good thing Koss thought to put an "L" and "R" on each respective side, because the first thing I thought was "man, I have no clue which was is the right way to wear these". As an all plastic and metal affair, everything seems well designed and assembled. The band is obviously nothing special, but it is functional and I suspect that it will resist damage fairly well, provided you aren't grossly negligent. Similarly, the plastic over the drivers is minimalist and certainly on the lighter/cheaper side, but it does not make me think "cheap". The wiring, similarly, is thin and the plastic encasing it is not as satisfyingly rubbery as, say, on my Apple EarPods, but again, I don't feel concerned by the cabling, as I suspect it will hold up reasonably well. Why am I so optimistic about materials I'm describing as "cheap" and "thin"? Because this honestly feels like a product where the designers said "what is the simplest, cheapest set of headphones we can make that will have awesome sound and awesome comfort?" These don't strike me as hastily or sloppily designed; rather, there is a purposeful frugality going on here. It really does strike me that this product is the "people's headphone", meant to combine rather uncompromising sound quality with reasonable durability. In other words, these strike me as value-oriented headphones designed by someone who wanted to do right by their customers while still being profitable. That's pretty cool! By the way, the fact that these collapse and can be rolled/clipped into a ball is really cool. They fit snugly into the supplied bag, though the draw strings can't completely close up the bag with them in there. My only question: what am I supposed to do with the cable? Wrapping them around the headband seems obvious but also slightly risky, as I'm worried about snagging on the clasp that holds the headphones in a ball. Maybe I'm just paranoid, though. Comfort: much has been made of the fact that your hair can get caught in the band. I get it, and I don't doubt it. On the other hand, I think the band is designed brilliantly, with two sliders that make it pretty simple to adjust size quickly. I'll let you know if they pull out my hair, but so far so good in that respect. As for the "ComfortZone" pads that rest on your temple, I can totally see what they are for, and the three settings do affect how the phones sit on your head somewhat, but at least for me, it seems a bit gimmicky because I feel you can accomplish much the same thing by adjusting the headband. The foam pads over the drivers are reasonably soft, though I do question their durability because they are simply cheap porous foam. I remember the 80s well enough to know that these will disintegrate at some point, so I ordered 3 extra sets from Koss for $4. Assuming the pads last at least 6-9 months, I'll be satisfied. If they longer, I'll be ecstatic. The sound: I'm not an audiophile or audio engineer, my main set has been the EarPods for the last couple of years, and my eats are probably damaged from years of operating a table saw in high school stage crew. Nonetheless, the sound from these headphones is really great! I plugged them into my iPad Air, and even at ⅔ to ¾ volume, these things were really loud. I ever so briefly put the volume near the upper limit, and they seemed uncomfortably loud. I can only imagine what you could achieve with an amp. I listened briefly to some Willie Nelson, Norah Jones, Skrillex, Linkin Park, and a song from the musical "Wicked". I'm pretty sure everything I listened to was encoded at 256kbps as AAC or MP3. All in all, the sound was terrific. Vocals were clear. Hell, everything was clear. I heard details such as snares that I don't remember being there before. And the bass! Holy moly! I'm not sure what really constitutes "good" or "deep" bass, but boy did these things wimp me when I listened to Skrillex. I'm sure there are better headphones for dubstep, but frankly I don't care. For $25 open headphones, I was thoroughly impressed. Some folks say these get better after some amount of use/burn in. I have no idea yet, but I'll try to provide an update if and when I notice any difference from prolonged use. Value: at $25, they're less than a third of the price of a pair of Grado SR80s, and they're even cheaper than my EarPods. I did not buy these on a whim, and nearly bought about half a dozen other, more expensive pairs before I settled on the PortaPros. I have no idea what more money would have bought me, and for now, I don't really care. In 10 minutes, I've experienced better sound compared to what I was using before, and for $25 with a lifetime warranty, that sounds pretty good to me!

Recently the pads on my Sony Noise-Canceling headphones had become very badly worn, and since they weren't terribly comfortable WITH the pads, I decided it was time to get some replacements. After asking around for suggestions from my Audiophile friends, and looking around on the web, I found a list on [...] of their picks for the 5 BEST headphones for use with portable music players. These were on there along with a lot of other headphones that costs LOTS more (Specifically the Bose QC2 & QC3.) And they listed the retail of these at around $50.00. Since that was about what my Sony's cost - I started looking around & found them on Amazon for just about $30.00 ! So I figured it was a pretty clear "can't lose" situation, and ordered them. Oh, how right I was ... First off, even though the delivery estimate was 6-10 days, I got them 3 days after placing my order. They were smaller than I expected, but I very anxiously brought them down to where my laptop was (since that is where they will be used the most,) started up my favorite Internet Radio Station ([...]) plugged them in & put them on. All I can say is WOW ! They sounded SO much better than my Sony's the difference was startling. The bass response was HUGE & the fullness of the mid range & highs created an almost surround-sound environment. And no matter how loud I cranked the volume, I couldn't detect ANY distortion. I can honestly say they are far & away the best sounding headphones I have ever had - and to get that kind of sound from a pair of $30.00 portables is astounding ! My only complaints about the phones has to do with their folding form-factor. They are designed to fold in towards the headband with the ends clipping together to form a loop. Trouble is, they still just BARELY fit in the leatherette bag provided to carry them in. And most of the time while putting them away, they have a tendency to spring back open, which complicates extraction. But this is a small detail I can definitely live with. One other note, I thought I'd pass along. The drivers these headphones use are also used by several of Koss' less expensive headphones as well. So it is very likely that you could find a $15-20 pair of Koss headphones at your local WalMart on a rack with all the low-end Sony, Skull Candy, & Memorex headphones, and STILL get the same sound quality that you can have with the PortaPros. I can't vouch for the headphones construction though. Bottom line is, for the price I cannot imagine finding a BETTER pair of headphones than these. If you're in the market I would definitely recommend these above anything else. You will NOT be disappointed UPDATE: After reading some of the negative reviews on Amazon, I feel compelled to give an update on my initial review. To all of the reviewers that lamented the build quality & complained the cords break too easily. - I've had these over a year, use them 5 days a week & 8 hours a day & they are still in PRISTINE condition. And in case you think I'm some kind of fussy-audiophile keeping them in a velvet box, I'm 6'4'', 250 lbs & I just toss them in my backpack/laptop bag when not in use. I did RECENTLY get a larger case ... but that was after 12 months of use with no problems whatsoever. In regards to the hair pulling issue .... yes they do pinch a few hairs every now & then. But it grows back. It's not like they're yanking hair out in clumps. Annoying - yes. A deal breaker ? Hell No ! Besides, I've got male pattern baldness anyway. 'Nuff said. And as far as my impression of the sound quality AFTER having them a year - well, you can ask my friends & family. I recommend them to EVERYONE I meet. I've even stopped total strangers in Best Buy looking at headphones & told them to buy these. Seriously, EVERYONE I have shown them to has been bowled over by the sound & half of them have ordered these headphones. As for myself ... the reason I got the case is I ordered 2 pairs of the slightly cheaper SportaPros for my kids, along with the case & a set of 3 replacement pads. Because I FULLY intend to keep these until they die & then I will either have them replaced or buy another set. They are THAT GOOD ! So, let me restate my previous opinion. Do NOT hesitate - BUY THESE HEADPHONES. Unless you really want to get a $200.00 pair of Studio Quality Cans, these are the only head phones you will ever need. PERIOD !

Alright so I got them on a pretty neat discount. Back then I wasn't willing to pay the full price, and now that I have one I'm still not convinced on the 50+ cad price. Yeah sure it's wonderful pricing for such a great sounding headphone, but did you ever consider the consequence of taking such a plunge? I mean go on the internet and you'll either find raving reviews saying these are the best in class, or immeasurable disappointment who foolishly set too high of an expectation to get what they expected: Not good enough. When you buy one of these as a hobbyist, you look back at your audio, wondering where you've gone wrong. It's not quite audiophile enough to replace my more expensive, albeit larger sets of headphones, but it's not quite bassy enough to satisfy my basshead beast that's leaching off my life essence (curse you Sony Extrabass and your extra-bassyness that not even the bass the fish can sate my evergrowing lust for extra bass). I'd compare the bass level to what sony throws out on their non-Xtra-Bass lines of headphones. There's enough width to sound to almost pretend I'm in the place of recording... almost. It just lacks that little bit of something that ruins the immersion. Yeah sure it's wide, but what's the point if you're fully aware that what you're listening to is only a sample of what the audiophile world has in store for you? The audio listening hobby quickly shifts from a minor purchase here and there to irresponsible spending in a blink of an eye... and before you know it you've created a black hole in your wallet where your hund-o's used to live. That's what this is, unsatisfying in any way you look at it, if you've gotten a glimpse of what it could've been with a few more tens, hund-o's, or grandies to spend. Build quality is competent, but I wish the clamping force wasn't so hard, and the foam that's supposed to sit on the head to alleviate the problem doesn't reach my big, dumb head. Comfort is there, but not enough. The furthest settings for the "comfortZone" (which adjusts how much pressure the earpads assert on your poor ears) is just not light enough for my sensitive ears. I don't think I can spend a whole day wearing these without my ears getting sore. Good news for glasses wearers though (at least some of them), the pressure is put on the antitragus and the tragus, so though you'll get discomfort (or at least itchiness) in those middle outer parts of your ears, your glasses frame will likely not dig into your skull! But of course your mileage may vary. The cable is not noisy at all, though I don't think that matters much considering that these are open back, and you'll definitely hear the cable whack around furniture due to careless usage. The audio quality, though really good for the price, short of a miracle that everyone claims it to be, and a bit too bassy for ex-bassheads (and not bassy enough for the bassheads). It's a pretty warm sound, but the mids and highs are present enough to make it seem like it just has that extra bass on top of a balanced sound. Sure the driver units can be popped off and attached to other attachments (I've actually gone and put them on a KSC75 earhook), and the foam pad can be replaced with the much more comfortable and better sounding YAXI earpads... however I'm reviewing the product as it's own... and without any accessories (except a "protein leather" egg bag), this product is not good enough for all the praise everyone's screaming out... But that's what it is. Disappointment if and ONLY IF you set your expectations stupidly high based on reviews bowing down before its presence. If you ignore all the fans (somehow) and just buy the product expecting nothing but a 50$-sounding headphones, prepare to have your socks blown off to next sunday cuz this set of headphones is the best retro-style good-sounding headphones for the money! When you buy this, don't expect a giant-killer; Be humble, and you'll get more than you've bargained for. If not, at least these do well as conversation starters and/or room decoration.

No me decidía entre éstos y los Koss KPH40 Tengo entendido que la calidad es prácticamente la misma, solo que me decidí por estos por el diseño más retro El audio es excelente, impresionante la calidad que tienen, lo mejor es que son muy ligeros, por lo que si te agachas no se te caen por el peso como pasa con casi todos los audífonos de diadema modernos. No aíslan el audio exterior, por la calidad no lo vas a notar, pero eso es bueno porque puedo caminar y estar atento a mis alrededores mientras escucho música en buena calidad Combinados con un iPod classic es la mejor experiencia de audio, hasta puedo distinguir detalles en canciones que nunca había notado antes Y hasta le pedí a mi madre que me tejiera unas "esponjitas" la verdad no las necesita, solo se las puse para fines estéticos. Estoy muy contento con la compra, se ven frágiles pero son resistentes y los he estado usando literalmente todos los días desde que los compré, no me han fallado.

Als Kopfhörer zum Musikhören benutzte ich bisher an meiner Anlage einen Sony MDR-CD370 und für Walkman, Discman, mp3-Player und zum Fernsehen einen Panasonic RP-HT41, der jedoch physikalisch den Geist aufgab (Kunststoff-Bruch). So suchte ich nach einer kostengünstigen Alternative, die beide Geräteeigenschaften vereinen sollte - leicht wie der Panasonic-Hörer und klangvoll wie der Sony. Ich stieß zunächst durch Zufall auf den Sony MDR-ZX300 in rot, den ich mir bei einem nahegelegenen Elektrogroßmarkt kaufte. Dieser war schon deutlich besser im Klang als beide alten Kopfhörer - Sattere Bässe und Höhen sowie deutlichere Mitten. Diesen kaufte ich hier in schwarz auch für meinen Schwiegervater, der diesen an seinem Keyboard betreibt - Ist dafür ideal. Da der Sony-Kopfhörer jedoch beim Fernsehen auf Dauer auf die Brille drückt, suchte ich weiter und fand "ihn" - Oder war es doch eher wie bei Harry Potter, dass der Hörer sich den Träger aussucht! ------------------------- Sein Name: Koss Porta Pro Seine Technik: Entwickelt in den 1980gern - Aber immer noch modern. Sein Aussehen: Irgendwo zwischen zeitlos genialem Futurismus und hässlichem Entlein, aus dem sich jedoch später ein herrlicher Schwan entwickelt. ------------------------- Und genau das ist er: - Der Schwan unter den Kopfhörern: Er kommt in einem schwarzen Pappkarton. Als Zubehör ein kleines Kunstledersäckchen, in dem er verstaut werden kann. Danach ist er nur noch so groß wie ein Baseball. Die Verarbeitung wirkt billig, und er fühlt sich zunächst auch so an. Hat man ihn aber erst einmal auf, ändert sich dies schlagartig. Durch seinen extrem zusammenziehbaren Bügel und einen dreistufigen Mechanismus passt er sich jeder Kopfform an, So umschmeicheln bald die zusätzlichen seitlichen Kopfpolster sanft die Schläfen vom kleinsten Kind bis zum größten Dickschädel - und plötzlich vergisst man gar, dass man das 66 Gramm leichte Federgewicht überhaupt auf hat. Dass man sich beim Aufsetzen die Haare einklemmt können weder meine Frau, unser Sohn, noch ich bestätigen. Mein Tipp - Mit ein paar 45mm Lederohrpolstern ist er noch bequemer. - Das Akustikwunder: Techno, Funk, Rap, Klassik, Rock - HD-Receiver, Fernseher, Smartphone, iPod, PC - Scheiß egal: Höhen bis zum Abwinken, satte Mitten, Klare Instrumente, natürliche Stimmen und mächtig fette Bässe auch bei geringer Lautstärke. Für die Klassik sollte man die Bässe etwas zurücknehmen. Nun aber los - Anlage auf Voll und ab geht's - keinerlei Rumpeln oder andere Störungen - eher platzen die Trommelfelle bei dieser Lautstärke vom Schalldruck, als das "er" schwächelt. Gnadenlos drücken die Beats in den Schädel - Meine Umwelt kann mir gestohlen bleiben - Augen zu und weg - ich höre nur noch was aus den kleinen Hörmuscheln kommt, und sonst nichts!!! Leider geil!!! Der Koss Porta Pro ist mehr als sein Geld Wert - Für einen Kopfhörer mit einer vergleichbaren Qualität gibt man in der Regel mehr als doppelt so viel aus. - Aber teuer war einmal - dafür gibt's ja "ihn"!!! Entweder man mag ihn oder nicht - Du hast nicht die Wahl - Da ist "er" kompromisslos!!! Ich jedenfalls mag ihn so sehr, dass ich gerade den Porta Pro KTC bestellt habe. ------------------------- P.S.: In der Serie "Crossing Lines" trägt "Sebastian Berger" einen "Porta Pro" in der Folge "Die Entführung - Teil 2"
