No Ringin Baby!!
I got these for shooting my .17hmr rifle. Aside from those disposable orange foam-rubberish earplugs we used for duck hunting, I've never really used ear plugs for shooting, stupid I know, but I hated the orange ones, they'd constantly fall out. I primarily shoot a shotgun, and the sound of a shot from one to me is like a capgun compared to this rifle. I got it years ago as a gift and I've barely used it. My primary use for it is squirrel hunting and target shooting. But the report/crack of it is so loud that just one shot gets your ears ringing immediately. Its not that it hurts my ears its just so loud it gets me extremely cautious about damaging my hearing, and you'd think I'd have the same caution when shooting my shotgun but it simply doesn't compare. I was originally going to get surefire earplugs but I kept seeing reviews that the earplug frame was painful so I decided on these instead. Well they came in today, and I put them in as soon as I opened them, and the reduction in sound was unbelievable, they weren't deafening you of course but the sound reduction was crazy. I went and loaded my rifle and took a shot, then I had to take another to make sure I wasn't crazy. I mean there was no loud crack/report at all, and so best of all my ears WERE NOT RINGING. I'll likely wear these when I'm on my lawn mower too. If I'm on it a good while I usually do come off with ringing ears. These are some nice earplugs, rubber feels good, doesn't irritate you at all. As for as adjustability, it's pretty nice, it depends on how far you shove them in. The earplugs have 3 sections that get progressively wider from the tip back so the farther you push them in, the tighter the feel, but the quieter it gets. The little rope/string connecting them is surprisingly strong for how thin it looks. I've definitely gotten my money's worth.

I can't hear you...
Great product. I bought this for 2 reasons: 1. To reduce noise during air travel. 2. For hearing protection while shooting. It succeeds in both, and is a big improvement over the various solutions I had been using. While flying, I like noise protection to reduce the ambient airplane noise (not to mention the noise of chatty passengers) while I am reading. I fly a lot, but do not like using any type of electronic noise reduction for many reasons, including the restriction on using electronic devices below 10,000 feet. My solution up to this point was an expensive set of Israeli-made SilentEar earplugs that were supposedly really good, but just would not stay put in my ears despite trying several sizes. This product fits my ears *perfectly* and results in a quieter environment, so will be coming with me on all future flights. While shooting, I have been using various brands of ear muff style hearing protection, including ones from Stanley, Beretta and Browning. Besides being bulky, nearby gunfire still sounded LOUD. But with these, the sound is now tolerable, and I don't have to fill up 1/4 of my range bag with big bulky ear muffs. You get 3 sets in this package, which is nice and very good value. The only cautionary note I will add is that in each set I got, the yellow cord connecting the two ears was tied in such a tight knot that I almost could not get it apart. For a moment I actually considered *cutting* the knot, thinking that it was not part of the cord, but quickly realized that doing so would cut the cord between the 2 earpieces. You can untie the little knots - if you have patience. [Update: For some time now, they have come tied with knots that are much easier to untie, unlike the earlier version, thus no longer an issue.] I like them! Sorry, what was that you said??? UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: It puzzles me why a few people have had such trouble with these and think they don't work. Unlike what a few others have reported, these work really well for me at the range, and in fact when I have tried wearing ear muffs over the top of these I really can't detect any further reduction in sound. For anyone who has had trouble or think they don't work, be sure that you have inserted them properly and completely. As the instructions indicate, you have to pull out on your ear lobe with one hand while inserting them into your ear with the other - you can't just push them in with one hand because they won't go in far enough to fully seal the ear canal. When properly inserted, you *will* notice the difference - a feeling that I can best describe as being "cut off" from the world. If you don't feel that, they are not inserted properly and you will NOT get anywhere close to the level of sound reduction that these can provide. Anyway, these work just great for me, and I am about to order more. UPDATE, several years later: I keep buying more, because I am concerned about my hearing, and these help a lot. If you don't do anything around noise, you won't need these, but most of us do. My latest use, which perhaps negates my original title a bit, is to wear while out on my side-by-side ATV, which is quite noisy. I keep several pairs of these in the vehicle, to wear myself, for my spouse to wear, and for guests. While they greatly suppress the noise of the ATV, my spouse and I actually *can* easily hear each other while wearing these. Seems perfect. I've seen a lot of silly comments by others here, who say that: * They are uncomfortable. True, you won't want to wear them all day. That would be true of any hearing protection. * The state of California says that they are "known to be carcinogenic." Perhaps true if you eat them, but half of the things I have purchased lately have come with such a warning. I live in the real world, not California. * They don't work. Well, they do for most people - especially if you insert them correctly.

Steve ear plugs
These are very handy and easy to use. I must say I feel they are usable for small caliber firearm or environment noise when it’s available. Easy to carry around your neck. They are very easy to install and remove from your ears. Plus the flouresce makes them easy to find.

Perfect for Smaller Ear Canals. Work great!
I have tried every kind of ear plug there is, but they don't fit into my ear, or they fall out, or they don't block any sound, and or they hurt when I lie down. I have smaller ear canals than average So if you have the same issue, these are perfect for you. They're also very good at blocking out sound. It's not 100% but it's more than enough to help you get to sleep. What I just suggest is to make sure you keep them clean, washing them with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide fairly regularly because your earwax will collect on them and you'll be pushing it down into your ear. It happened to me so I had wax deep into my ear and it hurt. I Couldn't get it out on my own, I had to go to the doctor to do it. But these are well worth it. They come connected on a plastic string which I put behind my head. I like it because I can take one out and let it hang if I want to hear something or someone, then I just stick it back in when done. They do break off of that string but you can still use them without it for sure. They will always snap off at some point. Perfect if you have small ear canals.

Good ear protection to keep around the house
These are effective, and inexpensive enough that it's reasonable to keep one stashed around wherever you keep power tools in your house. They tend to migrate around instead of having a single fixed place, but I just keep them on subscribe-and-save for every few months. Whenever they're coming up for delivery, I just skip it if I haven't had to hunt around for any lately.

Minimal reduction
I must have large canals, because these really don’t help. I’m on a commercial mower( around 90 db) these plugs have minimal effect.

good
04-03-26 Well I adore these now I can just push them in and go and blow off the driveway or the walkway There isn't any other hearing protection that so smoothly slides in my ears and goes in deep enough so easily and quickly I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again In fact these are the only ones I plan to buy if I need them again In fact these are the only ones I plan to buy if I need them again After using hot water To straighten out the string even the string is great it hangs so smooth on my neck and after I take them off I just hang them up on a hook 11-24-25 comfortable but the string is frustrating but i learned that holding it by the earbuds and dipping into slightly below boiling water 200f and the straight right out

Recomendados

Aircraft
Loves these little things. I work around aircraft and these are perfect for the job. They are small enough that I can wear these with the peltor over ear defence aswell so doubling up on protection. Good choice of colour, that is if you do drop them being a hi viz yellow they stand out. Has the plastic cord that joins them together. Soft fins cushion inside the ear with a good seal. Good quality from peltor. Would buy again but these will last a while.

Great product!
This product actually exceeded my expectations. I found them comfortable to wear while sleeping and they blocked out the sound well. It wasn't total silence but that's not what I was looking for, and it did block out the majority of my friend's snoring on a trip so I could sleep. Also a great price and seems to be good durability. I thought the cord would get in the way or would be uncomfortable, but I didn't notice it at all and liked that it helps to not lose the ear plugs. Would recommend and buy again.
