Relatively easy to assemble - don't get frustrated!
First of all, this comes in 2 boxes and BOTH are very heavy... even my delivery guy said so! I took the smaller box inside myself, but opened the larger box outside and carried the pieces inside. Everything is labeled clearly (either on an "end" or on the "wring" side. Compare the pieces and hardware to the list before you start assembling. The allen wrench needed is in the hardware packet. The only other tools needed are 2 screwdrivers (flat and phillips-head), and a small hammer.Second - assembly and instructions: Pay attention to right side v wrong side (but know that everything can be undone/redone if you make a mistake). When you think something doesn't fit or the assembly is difficult, it probably means that you have the wrong piece or the wrong side. And the last step - putting the support boards over the middle --the instructions don't mention that you should leave a gap between each piece for ventilation (otherwise, you'll be 3 inches short). The assembled bed is very sturdy -- I plan to keep the assembly instructions in the empty space in case they're ever needed for dissembling and moving. This bed is solid. It should not shift or creak at all.The bed looks great and I plan to keep the extra guest room linens /towels in the cubbies. Without a headboard it fits underneath our windowsills (which are too low for most headboards. I purchased a 10" mattress and it looks great / complete.I consider myself pretty handy, and assembled the bed myself - in my spare time over the course of a weekend... maybe spent a total of 3-4 hours (but would take breaks when I was getting frustrated. If there were 2 people building it, assembly would have been much faster.I did call Customer Service (about the last step) and they not only answered right away (on a Sunday morning), but were able to answer my question immediately.I give this bed 5 stars without any concerns.

Delivery was a mess but quality is A+
Like many other commenters, my delivery was a joke. It was scheduled for December 3 with a $30 fee to carry it up the stairs to my bedroom. It arrived two weeks early without so much as a knock on the door. They dumped it on my front steps and walked away. I had to drag it in the house myself and hurt my arm in the process. Each box is like 150 pounds. I opened the boxes downstairs and brought everything upstairs one piece at a time. Fortunately, they automatically refunded the $30 fee. Still annoying that they didn’t even attempt to fulfill the planned delivery. That being said, this was surprisingly one of the easiest things I’ve ever put together. It took a *LONG* time, about 5 hours with a lunch break, mostly because there are a LOT of pieces and you have to prep all of the pieces with hardware before you put them together. Also the pieces are very heavy, and it was a fairly exhausting work out.But... The final product is so, so, so worth the hassle. This is the sturdiest bed I’ve ever owned and I’m honestly amazed that I put it together myself. The instructions were so easy to follow and very user-friendly, and the illustrations are exactly what I needed to understand the steps. The bed is quite high and takes a little bit of climbing to get into. I have a queen size mattress and the wooden platform sticks out about 1 inch on each side. The rounded edges are genius. The cubbies are the perfect size for shoes and throw pillows. The baskets are weirdly tall and kind of hard to grab from the top, so I won’t be using them.**Continue reading if you are planning to do this on a wood floor like me....***You’ll want to think carefully about how you handle the last step. I kind of messed it up, and ended up leaving off the final support bar at the back. Oops.My main concern throughout the whole process was how I was going to make sure that the wood bed didn’t slide on or scratch the wood floor. I knew that I wanted to put sticky carpet squares between the bed and the floor, but I didn’t know the proper time to put them down, and once everything is together it’s extremely hard to move the pieces (because it’s so solid). I also knew that I wanted the back of it to go up against the wall, and once everything is down it would’ve been extremely hard to push, so I needed to put it all in place before finally attaching the pieces. At the very end, you are supposed to screw the 3 main units together in *clockwise fashion* in order to be able to insert the back support bar. Because I screwed everything in place all at once, at the end I was unable to put the back support bar on due to where the screws go and the fact that I already had pushed it up against the wall and laid carpet pads underneath it.Despite that mistake, honestly the bed is so sturdy that I’m not worried at all. I’ve been sleeping on it for three nights now and I have not even heard so much as one creak. This bed is not going anywhere and I think it will last for a very, very long time!

Disappointed
Okay product. Disappointed that the next week it was $100 cheaper and Amazon wouldn’t honour the price difference. It was already built to to hard to disassemble and send back as Amazon suggested in order to reorder at the cheaper price.

Where’s the rest???
Missing a second box or missing many pieces.
