Where can I find extra metal end pieces?

Amazon sells a variety of "Buckle End Tips for Webbing".  They come in several sizes such as 3/4", 1", & 1.5" as well as various finishes.  You need to review the many offerings for your webbing size (1.5" in this case).  Another cheaper solution is to use a flame or heat source to slightly melt the end of the webbing & after it cools to use a sharp pair of sussers to cut through the melted webbing.  This should not unravel & due to the melting be stiff enough to pass through the buckle.  For colored webbing be very careful to just melt the webbing without burning it black (heat gun would be good choice).

How can you remove the buckle?

Liana. I hope I can explain this. On the back side of the buckle, there will be a tab of the canvas belt. Pull up on that tab and you that will pull up on the metal tab that holds the belt in place. Raise the metal tab to 90 degrees to the buckle itself and you will be able to slide the belt back and forth. If no belt tab is there you may need a small flat screw driver or even a butter knife to pry up on the metal tab. I hope this helps.

This Canvas Web Belt | Cut to Fit works great as an easily adjustable belt.  The web material is 1.5" wide which allows it to work with most all pants.  You may be thinking of the Military Style of canvas belt.  This style of buckle uses a sliding lock where you pull the belt tight & then slide the locking rod forward to lock the belt into place.  To release you pull on the belt & slide the locking rod to the left.  This was the style the military used.  I prefer the flip-top type of buckle because it allows exactly the looseness desired.
