Purebites Beef Jerky Dog Treats, 11.0Oz | 312G - Mid Size

Wow! Dogs really really love this product, but there are some problems: 1. Most of the pieces are too thick for a dog to chew. Vetsv warn of a risk of dental fractures. 2. To make them more suitable, break them in pieces. But that is very difficult. 3. To make them thinner, one needs to tear in in layers. But that is not easy. 4. They have an oily coating and slight odor. Notwithstanding the above, every dog seems to love and adore them. Even if you make the pieces smaller and thinner, you'll hear loud crunches and your dog thoroughly loves each piece.

These smell and taste amazing to dogs. They’re nothing but pure beef and not just some flavored cookie and my dog definitely prefers this taste. The smell alone drives him absolutely nuts. The one downside is that these are not the easiest/fastest to break up and they aren’t a soft treat so they aren’t really ideal for training unless you have a lot of time before hand to carefully chop up a bunch of strips into smaller pieces. Even then I’d be a bit careful of them just swallowing a small piece without chewing just out of excitement— these jerky strips are really that tasty. But we don’t mind the size, we bought these just to feed as a healthy treat he loves!! He also loves the smaller cube shaped liver treats this company makes and those are definitely ideal for training! We’ve never had him not go absolutely crazy over purebites products. He loves them all.

We rescued a 9 year old Minpin named Coopy in June, & by July, he had a bought of pancreatitis, which left him diabetic. These treats are his favorite, & being all meat, they're a great treat for even for puppers on very strict diets. He tears through one pretty quickly, but that's just the nature of this particular little beast. They are a little greasy feeling, and they aren't odorless, but they don't smell bad at all. Coopy recommends, & we will definitely continue to order these.

100% worth it if your dog has allergies or loves beef or jerky. Just know this is pretty greasy and can be a choke hazard so monitor your dog and keep water close! texture wise it isn't bad, wouldn't use it for training as my dog has choked a little. size variation works for any dog that isn't a giant or toy breed

I use to buy these from chewy.com as they’re a bit cheaper but on chewy unless you order a certain amount ($50+) you need to pay for shipping. So I was quite pleased to see that Amazon sold them even if the price was a bit higher. These are a great natural treat, only one ingredient and cost efficient for how much you’re receiving. Now for the cons these are NOT small/medium dog friendly as the pieces are rather thick and chewy (tough jerky). Our 85lbs Malamute mix loves these , the chihuahuas not so much, even if broken down to smaller bits before hand.

The best jerky treats

It took awhile for these to arrive, but it was worth it! My dog goes nuts for them. They are stinky (which I think is part of the appeal to her) so I have the resealable bag in another ziplock bag. And I can’t break them into smaller bits, so these are an occasional special treat instead of being used for training.

Not what I expected at all. Size of pieces are inconsistent and rock hard making it difficult to break into smaller pieces. Sharp edges which is very concerning, choking hazard or mouth/ throat injury. I have been buying this brand for very long time, this is the first time I will not feed one of their treats to my dogs.

My dog absolutely loves these. They’re a bit greasy on my hands, but honestly that just seems to make them extra delicious for the pup. The quality is clearly high, and I’ll definitely be purchasing them again. Highly recommend for any treat-loving dog!

When it comes to treats, my dog is super fussy, and she'll only eat a select few. These beef jerky treats are one of those and she goes nuts for them. We usually break them in half and push pieces into a rolled beef cheek treat so it keeps her entertained for a while as she pulls them out. We've had over a dozen bags of these treats and quality has always been excellent with no concerns.

My dog loves these. 1 ingredient makes me happy. They are very very greasy. I don’t find them jerky like. They are more of a hard thick treat. I’ve only used jerky that was chewy before. Bag says min 5% fat. No max fat listed, but they are very greasy so likely not that healthy

Mon chiot, qui est sélectif sur ce qu'il mange, adore ces gâteries. Cependant, elles sont très huileuses et les pièces sont trop grandes pour un petit/moyen chien. Je les coupe en plus petit avec beaucoup de difficulté. Il faut sortir ses muscles pour réussir!! Il aurait été intéressant que la compagnie offre le même produit en format petites bouchées pour l'entraînement.
