I have not used or looked at the Kohler so I can not honestedly comment on that one. The American Standard though is the best thing ever. It is like having a public/commercial force toilet in your house. My plunger was retired the day I installed my new American Standard. Nothing plugs up this baby! In the toilet tank there is a container that the water goes into and pressurizes it, so when you flush...look out! I love my toilet.
