Good solution to my set of problems
After I upgraded my electronic drums to use a real hi-hat stand instead of a controller pedal, I had to move the slave pedal on my double bass to the outside. This created lots of problems for my snare, both in terms of floor space and in achieving a good position between my knees.I solved both problems rather nicely with this acquisition. The heavy feet provide a base that is both more stable and smaller in footprint than my other snare stand. The various adjustment mechanisms were so easy to use that I've honestly forgotten everything about that whole process. My drums stay in my studio, and after I set it up a month or three ago, I have never had to fiddle with anything again. My one quibble is that playing on a throne set at its maximum height, there isn't quite enough height adjustment in this mechanism to get my snare up where I would find it most ideally positioned. My snare rides a little low now, and I hit myself in the left thigh with my drumstick sometimes. I'm playing e-drums with a snare that's maybe 4" tall top to bottom, and if I had a conventional drum in this thing, I don't think I'd have a problem at all.

Super Solid- Infinitely Adjustable
Pluses: Extremely stable, very small footprint, easily and infinitely adjustable. Minuses: short height, heavy weight. The stand is very well made. Height and tilt adjustments are rock solid when tightened but very easy to loosen and adjust. I like the knurled, cylindrical basket adjustment and the universal ball tilter. The tilter remains tight enough when loosened to support your snare while adjusting, so you don't have to hold the snare to prevent it from flopping over. Between the tilter and the ability to rotate the legs to any position, you can find the perfect angle and positioning of your snare in your kit layout.I was surprised, though, to find how short the maximum height of the stand is. I'm 6' tall and sit just slightly above the point where my thighs are parallel to the floor; the stand barely extended high enough to place my snare at waist height. The stand is quite heavy and, since I'm replacing a feather-weight Axis snare stand, has made my hardware bag noticeably heavier! (Too bad about the Axis- clever design but just not stable enough). All told, a good investment.

Rock Solid!
I was looking at hardware for my first drum kit, and decided on Gibraltar because of the different features of their heavy hardware. This snare stand is built like a tank. It might be a couple inches too short for some players, but at 5'7" this stand works great for me and the foot print is small enough that it doesn't interfere with double bass drums. The stand weighs 9.7 lbs, but compared to lighter stands at my local music school, it never moves and will hold up to fast or heavy hitters. I love the memory locks on it, and it adjusts very easily and quickly without a drum key.I also bought the Gibraltar two-tone Black/Whiteย Gibraltar 9608-2TBW Drum Throne ย and it is solid and comfy!

Perfect for big drums and drummers that sit low.
Solid, heavy duty, "ultra adjustable", and low. Doesn't walk around under heavy playing. Can't complain about the price. Gibraltar has some REALLY nice stuff in the 9000 line.I'm using this with a 15" x 7" Ludwig snare and I genuinely love it. It's perfect for my needs. I'll be buying another of these for my second kit so I can play on this bitchin 14" x 10" Rogers snare I just picked up. I'd even be confident of it holding a tom and not being too wobbly.

Gibraltar 9606 Ultra Adjust Snare Stand
The Gibraltar 9606 snare stand is definitely a solid and heavy duty stand.I was surprised that the "ultra adjust" function was stiffer than Iinitially thought it would be but the adjustments are smooth and sturdy. The only downside for me was that when I purchased the item Amazon had arod-adjust snare bracket model pictured and I received the cylinder-adjustmodel. In choosing a snare stand I was torn between the Pearl S1000 and the9606 but Gibraltar won out due to the more affordable pricing.Overall a great snare stand and solid piece of hardware!

Best snare stand available
This stand is amazing. Super fat feet and sturdiest base out there. Thats why i bought it. Its so stable and infinately adjustable. I have the low profile version far better looking and great for those deep snares but even my 5.5 fits fine as it can adjust qutie high also. this stand is very well though out.If you want a serious snare stand buy this. You will not be disappointed. I'd buy another in a heartbeat and believe me, i got multiple snares and prob will. Also ships to australia, oh right. Really fast too ;)

Rock solid!
I needed a snare stand that would go low enough to accomodate an 8" deep snare drum and also have a small enough footprint of the legs to not interfere with double kick pedals. Totally perfect! Built like a tank, extremely rock solid! Only drawback I can think of is that it may be too heavy if some drummers are looking to for less weight to lug around.

GET SERIOUS AND GET ONE.
Matches my awesome throne with the same "Clydesdale" feet. Sometimes I play a 7" deep cast bronze DW snare that's incredibly heavy. This thing is perfect and strong, and the ball joint is just the only way to go.
