I had read another review that these were on the pinker spectrum of rubies. In real life, rubies DO run from a pinkish color to deep blood red so I was not bothered by that. But if you want to wear them with your favorite red outfit, they will not match. I bought them specifically to wear with an 18K gold pendant that I purchased in Italy. The style matched perfectly, as did the 18K gold plating. I lose earrings all of the time so to have a luxurious looking earring without the loss/cost is perfect.

I gave it 4 stars because the color is not red, is more like a deep pink reddish. In a low light ambient you will not notice the difference but when compared this earrings with my real ruby earrings, the real one are a very deep red. I bought this for my daughter, overall I found it very beautiful.

The earrings are lovely but the stones are dark pink instead of red. I was wanting a red stone but not as dark as a garnet so I thought theses would work.
