Our choice of base dog food for our German Shepherd. We would like to order the larger amount package when available.

We had our dogs on a very expensive dog food (Orijen) because we thought it was the best quality available. When we first started with it it was great, and we were happy. Then our dogs started having digestive intermittent digestive and vomiting issues.After doing more research and talking to our vet, what we learned is that the likely issue was that with 'boutique' dog foods there can be more variation in ingredients, due to the small-batch nature of things and esoteric ingredients. In our experience, dogs are particularly unhappy with variable diets, and ours have always been happier with consistent food.Our vet actually recommended Purina Pro Plan, stating that while it was from of the big food makers, it was of higher quality than grocery store versions. We tried that, and while it was consistently good, we continue to do research, and finally landed on Blue Buffalo. Yes, it's by a huge conglomerate (General Foods) like Purina (Nestle), but our research indicated it was of better quality, so we gave it a try.We've been using it for several years now and have not had any issues with it. We keep our dogs on the Denali flavor, with wild salmon, venison, and halibut.That being said, dog food is always a gamble, because we don't eat it, so we don't really know if there are variations in quality from bag to bag. However, so far we've been very happy with Blue Buffalo and highly recommend it.Oh, and we have a 130lb Rottweiler and a 50lb rescue mutt as our taste testers.

This is the best food we could find with the ingredients we wanted our furchild to eat,. Cody loves his Denali Dinner with Salmon and Venison. He is a healthy 3 year old with all kinds of energy, ability to learn and a healthy 80lb field trial breed. Cody is our 4th Chocolate Lab since 1996 so we know Labs and what keeps them healthy.Edit 6/11/2022We are changing due to Blue Buffalo discontinued this food??? We are changing over to Purina Pro Plan Adult Shredded Blend Salmon & Rice Formula Dry Dog Food. Recommended by our Vet and appears to have equally or better nutrients as the Denali Dinner.

We are a military family so it’s nice that we can keep something stable for our fur babies. Every vet who sees them (so a new one at least every 3 years or so) tells us how healthy our two big girls are. Healthy weight, healthy skin/fur, healthy teeth. 2 large rescue mutts and they’ve been exclusively on this food for about 7 years now.

Best quality dog food per lb and you won't have to bribe your dog to eat it. I've yet to ever throw out any of this dog food from sitting in any of my dogs food bowls. Price might appear expensive yet when you take into account fewer vet visits, and your dog will show better overall health, This brand is far superior to Purina, or any other common store bought brands. One person left a review claiming to have found a Slug in this brand of dog food... Ok, for a Slug to live in Dry Dog Food?? Just not feasible. Must have been a torn bag in transit-Shipping or possibly torn by owner, in their yard, and critters moved in?? My dogs eat every bit of this Brand, no matter what variety and I never have wasted food like as other brands used years ago. It's pricy, yes, but have to believe it's saving my pets health problems. One of my older dogs is gassy, and might need to buy end that's for seniors bc he will clear the room out.

Because of the COVID pandemic, I was forced to purchase this dog food online instead of going to the pet store. Not only is it more convenient to have it delivered to my front door but it is significantly cheaper. I have learned that my dog has trouble digesting hard kibbles. I now soak her food in hot water for about 30 minutes. This allows the kibbles to swell up prior to them swelling up in her stomach which absorbs a lot of the gastric juices that should be digesting the food. She is less bloated and also less likely to vomit the mostly undigested, swollen kibbles. Plus the hot water makes a soft of aromatic gravy that she loves to smell.

I’ve never had a problem with this brand of food or the Amazon delivery. Just wanted to give a heads up that Amazon may need some rodent traps or a cat to control them! Pretty sure the hole in the food bag was from a rodent and the box was untouched.

I've been ordering BB dry AND canned food for my two dogs from Amazon for about two years now and never a problem, no torn bags, no dented cans AND quick shipping even during the China virus "hoarding period".Both bags and cases of cans come in a sealed cardboard box.GSD and Chocolate Lab both love BB.The Lab, who has somewhat of a sensitive stomach, has no problems even with a different flavor each time.ONE CAUTION: Not all BB dry OR cans is grain free. If you want GF, you need to read the description on each different flavor you order.
