XD **Q: Does the thumb screw on the protractor allow you to tighten the arm to "save" and transfer angles accurately?** A: Yes, the thumb screw does tighten and allow the user to "secure" the angle. However, the angle can easily get bumped and move on you, just due to the fact there there is no true locking mechanism. I suggest using this protractor to set the angle, then use a different tool to match the angle and transfer it to another work piece.
