Thick and easy to work with
My project with this was lining a French drain trench, 300+ feet, just along the ‘banks’ after the landscaping company neglected to put in any fabric. That was a really bad choice, because the clay just washes into the gravel then, and will clog up the drain ditch in no time. I couldn’t dig out all the gravel and line the whole thing, but it occurred to me that the worst erosion will be along the surface, so I bought this to line the edges. I cut strips of about 12-16 inches in width, and used some ingenuity and tools I had to try to tuck it in between the clay and the gravel. That was a LOT of work, but this fabric held up well. It’s thicker and more substantial, and drains far better, than regular landscape fabric. Geotextile fabric has a different purpose; it’s not something you put down under mulch. Consider it more of a soil retention fabric than a weed blocker; the aggressive Bermuda grass manages to poke through it, though the other weeds that plague my yard don’t seem to. So far I’ve used it to line my French drain as above, and seen how much it reduces the washing of clay into the effluent water; I used it under two retaining walls, and watched delightedly as the rain filtered through the clay soil and then the fabric, running clear as it went to the drain. If you have a project that needs geotextile fabric, this is excellent stuff. I used the 6 oz weight, because I wasn’t sure what I needed and it was right in the middle; it has definitely met expectations and even exceeded them. I bought more from this supplier when I realized how well it worked. Oh, and price wise? Compared to local landscape supply shops, the quality is better and the price is, too. If I need it again, I’ll buy it from this vendor.

Will order again. Nice product to work with.
Used under gravel that was topped with D1. It is too soon to comment on its weed-determent, but it has great durability and is easy to work with. We bought the 8 oz. Web-page said product would be shipped folded (4') but it wasn't. It was on a roll (100'). Will buy again.

Look no further. This is it! High quality, supple & strong
If you are looking for a strong yet supple, environmentally friendly barrier material that allows air and water filtration to use in your garden or other outdoor environment, this is it. I spent a lot of time looking for a material to meet my needs. My requirements were: 1) to use in an outdoor garden, 2) to prevent weed growth, 3) material that would hold up under stone, 4) allows water to flow through it quickly, 5) allows air movement, 6) would not degrade quickly, and 7) would not degrade and leave all sorts of stupid little plastic shreds in the soil over time. If you’ve experienced this, you know what I’m taking about. (IMHO, Petro chemicals should not be knowingly added to soil/garden space). I ended up going with the Heavy Duty Super Geotextile, non-woven 8 oz. weight, in the 3’ x 50’ length. I used this as a layer in a garden next to the house, on top of existing soil, and under stone (gravel) that was added. It is intended as a weed barrier. Bushes will be planted in front of this area, and in the future I do not want to have to climb back in this area over bushes, to do weeding. I could not be happier with this choice. First of all, as other reviewers have noted, the material is like a thick felt. It is supple so you can move and adjust it exactly as you need to lay it down just right. The material is also very strong. It’s not just going to rip or tear on you. You will need a sharp scissors to cut it. Garden staples will go through it easily, if they have pointed ends and you use a hammer. This is head and shoulders so much better quality than the cheap junk sold in hardware or big box stores, (which rips when you just look at it). Not even in the same league. Does this product cost more? Yes. Do you get what you pay for? Yes. Keep in mind how much your time, and wear and tear on your body, is worth. Your future self will thank you for saving time, not having to dig up junky weed block in a few years and re-do everything. Do it right and do it once. I’ve included pictures of the project, before, during, and completed.

Amazing product and great customer service!
Product was extremely easy to place. Very strong and thick but easy to cut to size. Customer service was outstanding. Will buy from this company again and again. Problem might be, their product seems so good, I may not need to replace it for years to come!

Great for Gardens and Drainage Systems
I purchased the 4oz product and it is a very thick high quality material. I used it to wrap a French drain in an area that had a lot of standing water. I then used it as ground cover before building a rock garden in that same area. Part of the drainage system included a couple drain basins. Because this fabric is permeable I was able to cover the grates on the basins so we didn’t have to see them. The material easily lets water right through to the basins and filters out the soot and debris. It’s easy to install with spikes. The only complaint my wife had is that it is difficult to cut. I would suggest investing in very strong sharp scissors. I personally found it easier to cut with a razor but my wife prefers scissors, probably because she is a teacher. It is a thick, well made product and I wish I would’ve discovered it sooner.

Exactly as Advertised - Chinese Product
Appears to be really nice stuff, exactly as advertised. Strong and thick, lays flat. But there's no way to predict its durability over time. Remember, it's made in China.

Super Geotextile non woven fabric in a French drain system.
This product in the 6 oz version was selected for a French drain system 50’ long in a common hand dug trench with in ground downspout drains. Trench was dug 12” deep and 16” wide. This non woven fabric was placed in the trench and up the sides, then 90 degrees to the left and right lawn. I selected the 6’ wide version. Put 2-3 inches #57 stone in first, 1 run of perforated 5” French drain dual wall, and 1 run of 5” corrugated for downspouts. The system was filled with #57 stone and the fabric was folded over the top and overlapped. I selected the 6 oz since it is very strong and I like the added water flow it has over the 8 oz. Landscaping to be done over this. In a stand alone system all the products should be shot in with a transit or builders level with the foundation being shallow and the yard with no natural water drainage. The 2 pipes were set into a large meter box that slid over an existing corrugated drain pipe used for one of the downspouts. Concrete base to be poured in the box to create a funnel affect. First heavy rain and all worked well.

A little more cumbersome because the 6' was folded in half for shipping, but It seemed to be very high quality.

Mucho trabajo

Great stuff. Very strong.
Works great. Very strong. Water makes it through and is very hard to puncture with stapes so there is no worry about ripping it accidentally when moving it around and there are rocks on it.
